Brrrr

. It was cold ! I baited a couple of pipes the last couple of days. Yesterday the weather was absolutely foul so I spent the day at home, warm fire, Sunday Times, SD etc… I ventured out today wrapped up in my ex Austrian
Army pullover and a pair of Micklagaard lined trousers. Feck, I could still feel the cold, the wind didn’t help.
At 1810 a fox darted out of a wood to cross a track and I was convinced to setup shop for a while.
There are moments when you question your sanity, mine are becoming more frequent

.
Anyhoo, the wait started. It’s been a point of constant amazement for me how my wife’s phone call to enquire when I shall be home coincides with a fox appearing over the parapet so to speak. Honest to God, fox appears and the phone starts ringing. Ok, Charlene was 200 + yards away but, but . This timing coincides with the news ending on TV at 7 pm.
A hurried, brief and somewhat curt conversation ensued. “ well you don’t have to be rude” !

, job done. Tucked it away from the bait pipe aways and set off home. Windchill was making it -6C, one hour was enough.
