Gold Medal Muntjac

Thought I would post this picture of the Munjac deer I shot in my first year of stalking as I never though of posting it before. The mount was done by Paul Taylor in Dorset, his work is truly stunning and I have lost count of the amount of folk who have commented that it looks 'alive', I think that shows how good the mount is. I will though get some better pictures as my rubbish camera flash has put a sheen on the nose.

Thought I would post some more pictures of the Munti mount, have also included a picture of a Roe Skull mount which I shot and prepped which also went gold. Just realised the pictures needed turning but still you get the detail.

I have chuckle Davey and this is the part where you slap your forehead in disbelief. The Gold Munti was shot on a mates permission and was probabley the 3rd deer I had ever shot , though cant be certain. All the guys were gob smacked and I didnt quite know why until one of them pointed out it was probabley gold, alot of jammy bar steward comments and back slapping followed. Then the other gold was shot on one of my permissions the first day I step foot on it, whos says beginers luck does not exist. After that it was all down hill of course )))ATBPete

Oxfordshire but I will be hung, drawn and my quartered body be burnt and sent to the far corners of this land if I tell exactly where of course.LOLPete

It's a nice animal, but its eyes don't look quite right to me. They seem to be a bit too round and forward looking. I'm probably being a bit too picky, but I see a LOT of muntjac.

Have you not thought about getting the roe mounted as well as its a gold, I'm sure the taxidermist will be able to get a cape for it.

I have had that suggested to me but not sure as I always think its, well exactly what it is, two completey different animals as such, maybe I will consider it when I have some cash.

Its just the camera angle as when you next to it they are perfect.
