DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!

Guy in our village who should know better has done it and now he cannot remortgage or sell his house as it is now effectively un-mortgagable. You have been warned!

over the past few years I have seen several roofs being stripped to remove it,
about half the time the timbers were rotten,

its used as a cheap fix for leaks, rather than repair properly,

My ex neighbour got a mortgage on a property with spray foam insulation but it was on the proviso that the roof was retimbered. Not entirely sure of the details but I’m pretty sure the cost of the repair was reflected in the purchase price & no doubt, a bit like self build mortgages, there’d have been an inspection within a certain period post purchase.
