A few weeks ago I posted a link to this company, but was unable to give any feedback other than to say they appeared to have a good reputation.
I can now add that the good reputation is justified.

Expensive? Yes, fairly. I could probably have bought another mid-range pair of boots for what this cost, but these fit me well, are comfy, and the leather is all in good condition. So on balance, I reckoned that resoling the pair was the better option.

Yes I'm due to send mine over to them as they've started to split at the rear.

Like you say, the cost is around what you pay for a half decent pair of boots. I've already gone to the effort of wearing mine in, and they are comfy and keep out the wet and cold.

My neighbour sent two pairs of hunting boots back to Lowe near Ingolstadt 70kms away as the soles had come adrift they charged 100€ per pair including return post to inside Germany.

My view on this costly but top-notch sole replacement is that in many cases the boot manufacturer, Meindel, should be meeting at least 50% of the cost.

The concern there is, you're just getting the same quality back.

The option above, I'm hoping, is better

@Bavarianbrit how was the Lowe repair - I've been putting off buying a new pair of boots as I just can't let go of my Lowes which are superbly comfy but have a few ripped stitches and I've practially worn the soles flat now (the lasty trip officially ticked off 1,000 highland miles in them).
I'm UK based but have family in Germany and can send them via the next driving visitor - Just not sure if it is worth it or just suck up a new pair

The 15-year-old pairs must have been built better then. Mine are the same brand, I got a couple of years before the back started to split.

I don't want to send them back to Germany to get another 2 years out of them.

I'd rather give the other people a try

A few miles on the clock there, nice end result.
How’s the hand coming on ?
Will it be on display at the Stalking Show 😉

Now whereabouts in this thread does anyone say that they chose to have a repair done because they were unable to afford to buy new boots?
On the contrary, a couple of posts mention the fact that the repair actually cost as much as a new pair of boots would have done.

My God , lefties have no sense of humour 🤦‍♂️

What was the cost ?
I’ve a pair of Mamut boots needing done but it’s all getting close to the price of new boots

I have an older receipt from Mendl for 60€ to resole some felt lined high boots my neighbour has now paid 100€ so that seems to be the going rate.
Bear in mind they have to be handled/seperated at incoming goods then transferred to the repair dept mostly have to be cleaned and after the sole work have to be individually packed up for shipping, all labour costs compared to the mass production lines boots that get shipped out by the pallet I would think.

Depends on what needs replacing. You're looking at £70 for tread only, and a fair bit more if you also need new midsole and rand. Total for the whole lot is about £120, plus a bit extra if you want the leather uppers cleaned and reproofed.
There's a bit of variation in price been different types of footwear.
It is getting close to the price of a new pair of boots, but if the leather is in good nick then what you end up with is close to a new pair of boots.
