Which Habrok did you buy?

Which model of Habrok did you buy and why?

Are you happy with your choice, or should you have gone down a different route in hindsight?

HQ35l Habroks, after viewing through a friend's they were a nice step up from my Pulsar HQ35 mono.
Very intuitive buttons and actually comfortable to use

I went with the HQ50L, if I could have afforded to I would have gone with the HX60L. I started with the original habrok 4k which was a step down from my Iray spotter but the combination of thermal day and night really does suit me. My recommendation is go for what suits your budget i don’t think any of them will disappoint.

I'm going to hold off until the image stabilisation is a thing. Been burned too many times by manufacturers announcing an upcoming feature only for it to never materialise.

I do like my friend’s Habrok. It’s the cheapest model, but impressive. One thing that stopped me from buying a pair was the size and weight of the things. I noticed he was carrying a set of Votex Viper 10x42 (same as my own - an excellent set of binos) his Habrok and an older TI monocular. Too much gear for my liking. I suppose my question therefore is…can the Habroks adequately replace the binos and TI?

I had the 25mm with the 4k and if you were using for just deer stalking, yes, fine. The thermal was compromised, but sufficient to show that something was there and the 4k binos did the rest. For the price, brilliant.
But, I also needed it for pest control and that is where it all went wrong for me. Thermal, to low spec and the nv, just didn’t have the legs to see at night.
I am now trying to decide whether to invest in the 50. I don’t think I can afford the 60. Or whether to just buy a spotter, i think one of the things that (first world problems) annoys me, is having to remember which I am trying to focus. Guarantee that at some point, they will make it so you can focus both units at once. I hope.

I like the easy of focusing using one finger with the new HIK monocular units. And the power switch is on the side, where I will not accidentally press it.
Just can’t make up my mind yet.

Interesting review from singing stalker: not necessarily what I would have thought either. My main worry was the scanning aspect. I consider myself reasonably good at scanning for deer using a monocular and worried that a heavy pair of TI binos would be like sweeping the ground peering down a straw - as in too narrow a field of view whilst also too heavy and bulky making it a two handed job, therefore awkward. I think I may need to (seriously) borrow my buddies Habrok’s before spanking £1000 on a pair.

Recent firmware update for the 4K provides image stabilisation at 22x zoom, brilliant.

Just downloaded that, it’s absolutely fantastic, prior 22x was unusable.

25’s for me. For stalking excellent, if you needed a better thermal (foxing etc) then possibly worth saving up a bit. The only downside is slightly high mag on thermal, but it’s ok… if it was a little less they’d be perfect. A thermal, LRF, binocular and spotting scope in one package for £1200!

I've spent time with the HE25. the HQ50 and the HX60
Obviously the HX60 has the best thermal image- but it's only very slightly better than on the HQ50 - and the optical side of things is the same
Given that the HX60 is £1600 more than the HQ50, I think that if you want more than the HE25 can offer, then the HQ50 is the best bang for your buck

Cheers

For me the HX60L every time... the HQ50L FOV up close is too tight, also the image is over magnified, whilst the HX60L image is perfect for scanning up close, it also has a lot more detail than the HQ50L model, retains quality at a longer distance and has added detection range from the 60mm lens...

Don't get me wrong if all I did was shoot long range foxes and scan long range on the hill then I would save some cash and go for the HQ50L but, personally I think the extra cost on the HX60L is worth it to make it useable in a lot more situations, close, long range, better image ... it's so much nicer....

I've used an HQ35L since the Habroks first appeared almost nightly for my fox control work and found them perfect. I seldom if ever use them in daylight.

Are here any HE25L users, that have successfully instaled firmwire update for image stabilization?
A lot of my friends are asking me, if it is safe to instal new firmwire. I know that in the past, some users regreted to update firmwire on various devices and I don't want to jump my suggestion to them.

Thank you.

Yes, instalation is very easy and very stable.
It well worth doing.
