I see , know what you mean.What I meant was ..I’d have thought putting in rows of 10 would be easier to tot up ..nothing else honestly
Used to put 10 in a row but this was just to fit the pic on phone.

A bit of a mammoth night stalk across one of the biggest fields we have... and it was a well rutted sugar beet field, and as slippery as HRH Prince Andrew, my god has the harvester made a mess... still I managed one of the pair, I gave up on his mate when I ranged her at nearly 1000 yards.
I am pleased with this gnarly old bugger...

I think the fox was dead but just didn’t know it - it never moved again after the second collapse, amazing how it took that round though…

Not last night thought - my jaw really dropped at the Benny Hill-like speed of the (temporary) recovery and the thought that I was going to lose the fox as it headed for the hedge at speed. Just glad I got it….

Hmmm. Picked her up this a.m. after circumnavigating most of NI to find a way into the field. The VMax entered the chest pretty much central then exited well past, like really well past the last rib - horrendous wound, defo not for the camera. Still don’t know how it got up so fast….

Yep, I get that and I always used 50gns Sierras until maybe 5 years ago - they could be quite messy too depending on where they hit. Stayed with Vmax since because they are very accurate in my triple deuce and usually drop the fox instantaneously.

Yes they can be messy and kill well when hit in the right spot but I have seen terrible splashes and foxes still alive. A couple of times I have been carrying what I thought was a dead fox only for it to resurrect from the dead.Yep, I get that and I always used 50gns Sierras until maybe 5 years ago - they could be quite messy too depending on where they hit. Stayed with Vmax since because they usually drop the fox instantaneously and only maybe 20% don’t stop in the body - those that do are usually very messy….
