Sold: VW Transporter, 4Motion, SWB, Manual, 2.0L, 140/150BHP

I suppose I should of asked where he was planning on going on his trip/use it. I find ground clearance is a bigger problem than being 2 wheel drive on a van.

I guess I've up set a vee dub owner with saying it's worth looking at all vans. Thank God I didn't take the **** out of the flowers on the dash or surfing stickers on the back.
Not at all. I've owned all sorts mate. Probably 50 cars, vans and pickups of all makes.

I just don't get the statement of paying for the badge, when you get it back when selling. That is all. Same could be said for rifles or shotguns surely?

Don't take this as me having a go, even on my first post. I'm not 👍

My last van was a Vauxhall Vivaro that I took stalking with me

When you look at second hand rifle values/sales it doesn't matter what you buy the all seem hard to sell. You only have to look at the sales section on here the majority don't seem to sell.

Thing is with a van like the OP wants - it will always be highly desirable - If he bought one and spent a few quid on it after he has done with it by putting in a bed or side windows he could . should get more back than what he bought it for .- obviously depending how many years and miles and usage it has

Camper it and he would be on a real winner

I looked at the 4 motion .. the price of them.!!!! Always had 4 x 4 but this is a game changer

You will struggle to get a 4 motion on your budget bud

Deisel heater n rock n roller bed fitted to a stock van . Jobs a good un

I put a camp bed in it before I put the rock n roll ll bed in . Was perfect . I've put a window in the side since the pics were taken . No sink no bog
Just storage n a camp stove . Jobs a good

hendrix rifle non here has an older transporter
Didn't pay the earth for it and put his comforts in as a dedicated stalking vehicle/ tent . He was up on our ground in 6" of snow just before Xmas. Set of AT tyres he hot up n down the tracks no mither

Hi all,

I know this is a long shot but I figured I’d ask - is anyone selling a SWB VW Transporter?

Must be manual with the 2.0 140/150BHP engine, and ideally with 4Motion (and a diff lock!).

I’m after a standard spec, not one converted to a camper.

Cheers,

Dr. S
I have a 21 plate T6.1 LWB 150 manual 4 motion with diff lock, tailgate, twin sliding doors, ACC, power latching doors, hill assist, AC, fog lights, factory night heater, removable tow hitch & electrics, uprated starter battery, uprated alternator, heated washer jets, heated electric mirrors, 4x325kg anchor points in rear for suspend gralloch, 35mm suspension lift. I've just ordered a T7 so will be available soon. It's covered in dents & blood but has been maintained mechanically no expense spared.

I had a 2020 model with 4Motion and the fuel economy really takes a hit, we got around 30mpg on mostly motorways over the 2 years of ownership. That was the main reason I got rid of it, and if I was going back to a van, I’d go 2wd

So yours is just 2WD? Looks lovely - great photos!

Thanks, good to know! Seems like 2WD would still be a solid option to be fair, especially with good tyres
4motion with a diff lock is a must if being used for stalking, the diff lock is an absolute gamechanger.

I've had 2 2wheel drive t5's fitted knobbly tyres and always carried chains, it'd go lots of places in the dry but the 4motion is something else, even with m+s road tyres.

The standard ride height prevents you from getting much performance out of knobbly tyres on soft ground as it bellys out. Your typing farmers track with the raised section in the middle is also a hazard.

The so-low 35mm lift makes enough difference and isn't too bad in high speed corners. The 45mm kit (which is more like 55mm) isn't so hot in the corners
