Sako identification

Hi there folks, I have recently purchased a Sako in 30-06 (which I think is an AV) that is a little different from the standard factory model and I was hoping someone out there could help me identify it. It has a pretty stock with rosewood tip but the barrel is what is making me wonder whether it’s aftermarket or a Sako custom shop job.
It has a pac-nor super match barrel with 3006 custom engraved into the side of it.
It has a really nice deep blue with scroll engraving on the horizontal pin.
Any help would be amazing. Thanks

I really enjoyed stalking with an unmoderated rifle, first time really but in the heat of the moment and off the sticks it was a sweetheart.
I think at the end of this year I’ll get the stick touched up as I’m not the most delicate of human beings and it would be a shame to see it looking any less than mint.

The stock looks like a custom job.
The checkering is wrong shape and length, the shape of the presentation of the pistol grip appears slimmer.

It's certainly no bad thing to have in your posession a full custom sako.....

Take a look at this

I'm possibly completely wrong but relying solely on memory of someone who had two Sako rifles of about the same era (.243win and .270win) I'm inclined to think that it's the genuine McCoy and is a Sako custom shop rifle.

I know that Remington has/had a custom shot but pretty sure that SAKO didn't/doesn't.
The stock and the PacNor barrel dictates that it is custom, just not SAKO custom shop IMO.
A very nice rifle none the less. Enjoy using it. To me it is a lot more desireable than many of the rifles around these days.

Neil McKillop has rebarelled a Sako or two in the past with a pac nor barrel…
Very unlikely to have been engraved with anything but Sn. and calibre. Likely venomax as suggested or other custom job by a higher end shop like J Roberts

Beautiful. I love older Sako rifles. Definetely is custom, not factory. I do not think Sako ever had a custom shop.
The model should be engraved on the left side of the receiver, followed by the serial # and the Finnish proofing marks.
