You are correctInteresting - living up North it was my understanding that Thermal Spotters are ok but not thermal sights? If not there are an awful lot of adverts for said bits of kit on t’internet…

You bloody tell me. I just don't believe it but I watched it walking off like nothing happened!

Dam thing was on to me way before the shot. Had me trying for a shot several times then disappeared into a thicket only to reappear further away to check me out again. How strange - looked dead centre Smelly but no sound of the bullet strike or obvious reaction other than scarpering!
You might just find it in daylight but defo a zero check required…..
Err…..would it be fair to say that “one” was not quite as ready as they could have been to take the shot![]()
Every miss I have watched back over the years on thermal and nv scopes there looks to be a reaction , I think its just the bullet passing nearby. The more I watch the more I think there is a reaction....![]()
I'm in the Republic my self and I have gotten two NV's no issues, just on application said that farmers on my permissions don't want me to lamp in case light spooks the livestock. They had no issues with that.Too restrictive here for NV/Thermal
Classed the same as restricted firearms!
Yet to meet a fox that couldn’t be mopped up in time with a bit of patience

Defo a reaction with a miss - sometimes quite obvious with a hit too….Every miss I have watched back over the years on thermal and nv scopes there looks to be a reaction , I think its just the bullet passing nearby.
Also every miss the reticle is on the fox which begs the question is their a lag between the shot and video footage.

How many Hectares is that over?Just read a bit in The Scottish Farmer paper, ( why it’s in there I know not), my foxing ground has totalled 36 Curlew nests last season, not sure what the survival rate of chicks was yet, So going in the right direction I reckon.

Nice one Ben#1
Finally opened my account for 2025 last night.
Young vixen @ 187yds.
Been playing hare on FoxPro off & on for 20 minutes. Constantly scanning with thermal but no sign of life.
Turned off & preparing to move on. Last check, and in that way that only a fox can, one had ghosted in to around 70yd. Soon as IR came on she was off like scalded cat. No panic, followed through scope. I'm not a one for the "oi" technique, hoping she'd stop for final check before hedge. Fatally, she did. Very grateful to her. I thanked this one, slow start was annoying me.
