DNT 635 eye cup, any tips for keeping it on?

I bought a DNT thermnight 635 at the stalking show. It an excellent bit of kit but, same as all the Chinese thermal / nv offerings, the bloody eye cups fall off constantly.

I had the same with hik alpex and condor and it's infuriating. At £20 each it gets expensive constantly replacing them. On my condor I resorted to a dab of superglue which has worked brilliantly but I don't really want to do that on the dnt, the thought of it getting on the lenses gives me the fear!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I will try a tiny cable tie maybe but anything else come to mind?

If anyone from DNT or Hik read this please let the manufacturers know. It's a real design flaw in what are otherwise really good products

If you want it to stay in permanently super glue isn’t the best stuff to achieve this. Evo Stik or other impact adhesive would hold it better, and not let go. Apply a thin coat on both surfaces to be mated, allow to dry for 10-15mins, then press firmly together, allowing 24 hours for the glue to cure completely, but for all practical purposes it should be fine after half an hour.

I shall have a look when the new one arrives, see if tape or cable ties will work. A tiny dot of super glue either side of the cup does work really well, I'm just loathe to do it to an expensive bit of kit

I used a small amount of glazing silicone to hold a rubber eyecup on my Pard.
Fill the groove with silicone, only a tiny amount, slip the eyecup in place, smooth down/clean off any excess, and leave it to cure.
Mine has never come loose since.
