Mitsubishi ASX Diesel

As with all vehicles, you need to specify the exact model and year to get any relevant answers.

On the engine side, I can say there's a good possibility that it's actually PSA DV6, and there are some problems with it. One of the largest being, the injectors go through valve cover (o-rings plus single M6 size attaching bolt). So when the attaching bolt loosens (not if, but when) the conbustion chamber leaks into oil space, contaminates oil and this in turn gets into turbo and blocks the oil channels. Result is kind of catastrophic.

The injector issue was fixed in 1.6 BueHDI that has only 8 valves and M8 size attachment bolts. AFAIK there are some model years (on PSA side at least) that don't have AdBlu but have 8 valves. These would be most desirable. At least the BluHDI engine is VERY dependent on using just the right oil.

Otherwise they're reliable engines and can take a lot of miles. Of course your usual diesel precautions apply, e.g. you shouldn't drive monotonously all the time etc.

Great response - much obliged sir!

I had a 65 plate 1.8 AWD version. Ran it for three years. Very reliable , no issues at all. Not loads of room in the boot , that's compared to the CRV I had before but not to little as to be an issue.
