Had a renewal letter today reminding me that I need to start the process straight away
But I submitted my forms beginning of April
And had a text a few weeks back saying my sgc is being processed
Anyone else had the same
It's with TVP by the way the reminder letter came from a box number in Rugby

I had something similar when I came to renew mine.., my online application had been ‘received’, but not registered within the FLD.

So long as you’ve got your submission I wouldn’t worry, even if your renewal overruns, you’ll get the 8 week automatic extension, then a possible 6 month temporary permit.. it helps you to keep using your firearms, but not if you want to acquire one or ammunition..
 
Northumbria sent me my forms six months before expiry. (Of course, they don't actually have to remind anyone, as it is entirely the certificate holder's responsibility to initiate the renewal process). Anyway, I got my completed forms back to them within approx 5 weeks. The GP practice sent their form direct, informing me when they had sent it. (I notified the police, just to make sure they got it). I rang the police with about a month to go, and was assured that my application was in hand. About 12 days before expiry, they rang up for an on-the-spot 20 min phone interview. The chap seemed very sensible. No home visit required. My new certificates duly arrived a few days before the old ones expired. I have no complaints.

That's not good at all Pete, see how this pans out all my paperwork is good to go including Medical proforma just need to drop it off at the practice helps having a Doctor who's a shooter.
Could be an interesting wait 😎
 
My co terminus went in April 23rd Surrey/Sussex received an 8 week extension letter straight away. This now has 8 days left to run and zero contact to date. I’ve emailed them today to inform them today if my guns go into storage I will be forced to sue for costs and consequential losses.

Oh and my son applied for an FAC and SGC 366 days ago, no contract at all.

I’ll be calling BASC tomorrow (BASC haters need not jump on this thread as it’s really boring, ta)

Just remember, if it gets renewed in the next 8 days the new one will be backdated to the expiry of the old one.
However, if they make you store your firearms or give you a sec7 permit, when it is finally renewed the start date has to be the date of issue, not the old expiry date.

If they issued an 8 week extension meaning you had your paperwork in with plenty of time you won't have to store your guns, the fault is theirs, you should be issued with a new ticket or sect 7
 
@Greenmist ticket posted today all in just over 5 months on my house visit the FEO had Extension on his paperwork till January.
Will see if this has any mistakes as the last one had authorisation to purchase another FAC shotgun 🤣🤣
