If your stock is a wee bit light on material inside then pack out with some epoxy resin2 things, my stocks are all synthetic, and i will be using my cordless Dewalt drill

If I remember correctly the depth is 17mm. You need to leave between 1 and 2 mm out of the stock, do not fit flush. Fitted mine to a plastic stock which wasn't very thick but had strengtheners in side, used 2 part epoxy to set inside the stock. Just measure first to make sure it doesn't touch the barrel..

Yes you will have to go all the way through the stock, if it's non wood I would definitely recommend some form of epoxy etc to bed it in. I moved mine down from the sling swivel by about 6 inches to make sure it didn't touch the barrel.
i ordered some 3M 2 pack poxy resin, so glue it in place then blather over it in the stock?

Before you fit the gunsmith adaptor, check which orientation the bipod goes around, iv mounted mine so the lever is facing you.
i saw that on a video, doesnt mean i wont glue mine in upside down and back to front
Great point. Lever facing you means no pan and I think that’s the most useful mode. If I can feel the lever with my thumb then I know it’s the right way round.
rite, not sure about this now, so i did my 22lr first as im not to bothered if that one goes wrong, the drill bit came today so today was just drilling day,
didnt seem to drill a nice smooth hole as i was expecting, maybe my drilling skills, maybe the stock material, drilled down 15mm and my comparator is 18,7mm wide so put that in and it seemed ok ish,
now when i watche the 2 videos they used a wood and a plastic but obviously chose fat stocks as they never drilled through, mu stock is about 3mm on the bottom so will that hold it in place with the epoxy resin, there is still a flat on the cross section so that should take some glue too, rest of my 3 stocks are the same inside, hollow and cross sections, photos may show a better understanding

I think I'd try to do the gluing in 2 phases. First coat the adapter in epoxy, and make sure there are enough in the bottom edge of the stock hole (i.e. the surface of stock). Let cure, and then in second stage use more epoxy to fill from above (the barrel channel). Of course clean properly and tape / apply release agent to stock before beginning. Also protect the insides of adapter from epoxy.
Maybe I do have the wrong one. I just saw it said forstner drill bit. Now I realise it says Forstner sourcing map 19mm drill bit.

Indeed, your tool will definitely not cut a clean edge.
A pillar drill is also a very good idea. I did off-hand on my synthetic R8 stock resulting in a sloghtly off centre hole.
Not a drama and only I will see it, but still …Do use a pillar drill!!!

well the adaptors and glue came today so i thought id glue one in the 22lr as i dont care what that looks like, which is a good job as it looks like a dogs diner, and its not even centred
will test it later tonight when its had a few hours to set, will probably dribble some more glue around it, off to my mates tomorrow to use his pillar drill and he has a proper drill bit for it,
at least i got the depth right
