Hello from Ireland

Hi,

I’m a new (ish) entrant to deer stalking, still fumbling my way through things and spooking more deer than I should.

started off with an old Brno .243 but moved up to a .308 recently. Mostly midlands stalking in ireland for reds and fallow
Welcome to the site from Tipperary, have you looked at Wid Deer Association Ireland - covers you NARGC assoc membership and insurance, they had a Fun Shoot at the Midland Ground 2 weekends ago and have AGM and BBQ this coming Saturday?

I had looked into it when I was first starting out, to be honest the amount of times I get out and shoot is limited enough so didn’t think I’d have the time to make a real contribution to it or to get the benefit from it. Have been a member of the NARGC and ICS for the last good few years.

Would you recommend it?

They are firstly a friendly bunch, secondly they are launching the Deer Management scheme where they connect farmers with a problem with local stalkers. I’ve only recently joined but worthwhile so far.
