Where can I shoot a Skorpion SMG?

I have had some practical training in Poland recently, taught to control a full auto AK mag onto target, how to use a 9mm and .45 ACP accurately, completely strip / clean & reassemble to firing condition AR's / 9mm's / .45ACP's
Controlling cepers, and an indepth delivery of first aid.
Dealing with my age, and still under repair physical condition was a big ask, particularly at 3am with a bag over my head:eek:
1K run nearly saw me off, but the team building on the courses paid off.:british:
A quick taste of below.

Mrs O is not long back from a week in Budapest.....On the Hotel map/guide there was an advert for Budapest Shooting - loads of choice, Pistols, Semi Auto's and Shotguns. You pays your money and makes your choice!
Apparently a lovely city to spend a few days in as well, so it could be a "Holiday" for the rest of the family, while you blast off on the range!:D

For a moment - I thought you had volunteered for the International Legion for the Defence of Ukraine

Hmmm.
Most fully auto are very inaccurate as a simple result of recoil. The shorter the stock the more likely to “flip” - IMHO except the Thompson fitted with a Cutts Compensator or dare I say it the humble Sterling…. The AK is definitely a spray and pray utensil….

Interesting, I always had to brace myself for the climb when firing the Sterling in bursts and I can vividly remember the first time the wife fired one too - the inevitably bottom left to top right occurred before she quickly removed her finger from the trigger

Having carried a GPMG and used a German MG42(M1) I think full auto is a bit overrated. 3 shot bursts are ok, (thanks H and K) a fully auto weapon need some weight in it or control. I suspect the first time a skorpion is used in London, Manchester or Liverpool is the first time the user has fired it!

Shot an H&K MP something or other in .17 hyper velocity something or other in full auto - lovely bit of kit which I think it was a prototype designed to penetrate the new russian body armour. Very easy to hold on target but not sure it ever took off….

Fired a micro uzi in Riga Latvia
Had to pay a fiver extra to shoot it fully auto towards all the damage to range ceiling.
It was almost impossible to keep the muzzle down on fully auto
With those nasty little machine pistols best to aim low to start and let the muzzle climb zip um up…….just saying.

Never saw the point of the auto 9mm

Fired a Stirling SMG about 20 years ago

I’m confident that could have shot it every day since and still not landed on any targets.

MP5 was on the other hand very accurate , closed bolt helps a lot

A friend of my father who was in the Rhodesian security forces recounts the challenges of The Skorpion and Uzi. During the bush war they became popular as an additional hand bag whilst going about your daily business. Every body bragged about how brilliant they were.

One day out at the farm he set up an old 44 gallon drum at about 20 yards. A number of friends and family shot off several magazines from their uzis and skorpions at the offending drum. There was one grazing shot and one little round hole. I suspect it was a typically Sunday at a farm which usually involves a good braii and plenty of beer, but still.

After lots of noise Mrs F, or Granny F as I knew her, walked out with her trusty old 12 bore side by side and let fly with one shot. Ten decent size 9mm buckshot holes in a nice little group centred on the barrel.

<chuckle> That doesn't speak well for the level of training of the Rhodesians, now does it?

Sounds vaguely familiar…

There was a large wood burning stove/Kachelöfen firm near me with many workers. The owner was a bit eccentric, he had a Maybach but drove it himself. He was raided by the local feds and they found two skorpions in his gun room a very big no no with automatic jail time here. "Jail me and I will close down the factory" says he. Guess what happened. He died in his early 70s.
From the local rag. In December 2007, the Neumarkt District Court sentenced him to a suspended sentence for violating the War Weapons Control Act; tax investigators had found military equipment during a castle search.

Everyone gets caught, just make sure you are not first, a good number caught before me.
