Making a sled

Has anyone thought about using a double wheel wheelbarrow/ small quad trailer and taking the tub off it to turn it into a big sled? I'm sure someone's done it. What are the pros and cons?

Dragging over rough hill ground and some low ground. Some places we can't get a quad too and if dragging uphill on rough ground it would make life alot easier with a big sled. Just thinking of a cheap alternative 🤔

You dragging reds off the hill? You'd need something a bit more robust than a plasterers bath then I'd think. How about one of the Animal Transit sleds?

Yes generally red on the hills and some at a decent weight. I could do with something like a sled. Just wondered If anyone had used a wheelbarrow tub or plastic quad trailer tub to make one 🤔 if not it may be worth trying anyway. The animal transit sleds look good and well made they just aren't the biggest and would need to strap reds onto it.

Less ideal if you're using a quad perhaps but this looks decent for the money

That a cheap sled. I wonder how long it would last 🤔 have you had any experience with either of the sleds you have sent me the links for Kentcountrygent

There is a video which for the life of me I can't recall, NT ranger (lakes possibly) who has converted a fish crate with what looks like blue barrel to smooth the edges and uses it to drag stone, always thought it would make a good deer sled and cheap to make and repair

That's an interesting thought. Do you know where the video was? Was it on YouTube?

What ever you make/knock up there will be que of cockwombles lining up to chip in lol
2 Fallow 60+ kg around 300 yds to the truck, had a red the same weight, it suits what I do, a 40kg + fallow this evening not far to the truck 200 yds but scrub ground which would have made a poxy drag just with a rope.

Not everyone's cup of tea but saves me loads of work
