What is the best trail cam on the market at the moment

Hi, it really depends on your use and your budget. Do you want it mainly for hunting, wildlife observation, or for security around a property?

Good afternoon it will be used for hunting / wildlife observation regards Thomas
For wildlife observation I use a Bolyguard BG590. I’ve left it in the woods several times and it has always done the job. The photos are clear, the video mode is decent for the price (I paid under €150 on Amazon). It’s waterproof, easy to use and the battery life is really good, especially if you plug in an external USB power bank. Honestly, I’m very satisfied with it for this budget.
Another option is an action cam like a GoPro or DJI with a chest harness, which can be fun to capture more immersive moments.
Alexis.

+1 on secacam 3. Bought 2 and work well. Amaziing images 24/7 to your phone. Amazing what is about. Helped me get some foxes plus cull roe bucks

At the risk of hijacking this thread, may we please expand the remit to include camera ability to stream live to a mobile phone? I'm not up to speed on this technology but am kean to catch up with what's possible.

Thanks

K

Some cameras already allow live viewing over 4G, but they tend to be quite expensive.

I once had a Bolyguard 584 and was dissapointed by short battery life. The camera literaly made 10 pics and then died. Alltogether it lasted perhaps a few days. I hope there are some better examples out there with longer battery endurance. Perhaps I should have used alcaline batteries as I used rechargable sets.
