Out last night.

The kit we now have is so efficient that the foxes stand virtually no chance. A few nights ago, I was out and had success, and two other rifles cracked out on estates around me that night.
We have good kit but the Fox is a survivor .

I suspect this hot summer has had an effect on them. There are huge areas of ground where they go unhindered and usually they keep moving in.
This summer though has had numerous heat waves baking the ground.
Only now am I started to see beetles flying again, a vital food source but has been absent for months.
There is no need to jump to conclusions.

A part-time keeper pal of mine reckons the dry summer and lack of water in the ditches and ponds has been hard on everything, including fox cubs when they moved onto solids :-|
