The kit we now have is so efficient that the foxes stand virtually no chance. A few nights ago, I was out and had success, and two other rifles cracked out on estates around me that night.

Agree to a point, but they can't survive a constant stream of Vmax sleeping tablets.
It's a good job some areas allow no control, otherwise, we may be looking to move to Australia.
I'd hate to see them put on the protected list like Brock.

I suspect this hot summer has had an effect on them. There are huge areas of ground where they go unhindered and usually they keep moving in.
This summer though has had numerous heat waves baking the ground.
Only now am I started to see beetles flying again, a vital food source but has been absent for months.
There is no need to jump to conclusions.

A part-time keeper pal of mine reckons the dry summer and lack of water in the ditches and ponds has been hard on everything, including fox cubs when they moved onto solids

Not every square mile of the UK is shot though! We are but a tiny minority!!
I haven't shot a fox for weeks, come the winter they'll be back. I've noticed this happening the last few years.

Exactly there is still a lot of unshot ground , especially urban areas.
Just in too - cold and wet - Not a fox seen

Shes out SD - last Saturday - took track off totally and she dragged herself up the bank on her belly
Track back on - started clearing rides - bang back off - i have broke off part of the chain guard - so another job for next week !

No mate - it was just the lack of the guard essentially i think
Initially the issue was the grease valve nipple had got broken off so all the grease escaped

almost 3 hours leaning on a bale waiting , but no show . Crunchy stubble and very bright though
