bouncy shooting rails

Having used a folding high seat bought from bushwear for a few seasons now i can say that its accounted for a lot of deer.I noted lately the accuracy of my shots has lessened and having checked the zero and found it fine ive conclude that i have the high seat shooting rail to deal with. Got to admit the angle of these seats against a tree determines shooting position comfort big time and its angle just now may be too steep. Im off out to do some zeroing from the seat this time and not from the bipod so as to check groupings. Pretty obvious a rail that dances about is no good but has anyone else had problems with these folding seats /rails? Having to put downward pressure on a rail to find its solid point for a rock solid shot is nae gid. i was tempted to put a supporting stave up both sides to make it solid. This seems the quickest and easiest solution. Its been a great piece of kit other than this issue.

Yes, once you've found the best rail hight for the likely location of the deer, adding a strut on each side is a good idea. For an adjustable solution, old hide poles or clothes-line props are good. Alternatively, you might use an old hiking pole in the middle of the rail, with the yoke under the rail and the point in a socket drilled in a convenient tread.

I solved that historical problem with these cheap seats by making my ladder and basket hinge, the basket is chocked so it is plum and the hadder finds it's own angle. You go up/down the ladder once but sitting on the pis s for a couple of hrs is madness
TBH a stave and some jubilee clips would work for the non technical.
This tree has a lean/curve so I used cut wedges so the seat sits plum

I just used to take a stoutish seasoned stick up the seat with me. Long enough to be placed at a comfortable angle across the rails…. that removed a lot of ‘bounce’. The other thing to ensure is that the seat sits square against the tree in that both feet are on the ground.

For shots out to the right, I used to slide my bum off the seat and stand on a lower rung and use the back of the seat for support, likewise to the left but using the stick as well.

Aye ive kinda stood/sat for far side shots myself. As i say my accuracy has gone to pot these last few bucks. Its since i moved the seat.Im finding shots are hitting low-thankfully ranges of deer have been close since placing the seat at its new location.Guns accurate and im not cross eyed( yet),its the bloody vertical movement of the shooting rail thats the issue and i shall fix it before any further shots are taken and there has been a few "testers" fired off to confirm my theory
