I was out Saturday on the moor chasing grouse. IMG_1379.jpeg

As always, it was a great day, despite the rain and leaky trousers giving me a sneaky preview into my future in the nursing home.
Soggy bottom would be putting it mildly.
Back at the car I was complemented on my “ classic vintage SBS shotgun”. True, it is a nice gun, and it is a classic design.
I accepted the compliment, wiped off the rain and hopped into the car

I was half way home before I remembered that I bought it, new, 45 years ago….

If the guns a vintage classic, and I wasn’t new when I bought it, what the hell does that make me???

I can empathise! I have a heavy tweed shooting jacket that I wear in winter. A friend complimented me on it last year, and I responded with the comment that I'd only had it a wee while. On subsequent reflection, the realisation hit that that 'wee while' was over 25 years 😳
