Why are people selling Alpex 4Ks so often?

You are me old fruit, but as you seem to comment or react to everything I post you’re quite difficult to ignore 😉
Then don't write "he is on my ignore list"
I see you have switched from being the reloading police now the IR police
Bugsy has you weighed up so all is good and may the Force be with you... 🚔

alpex 4k lrf swap from gun to gun, on 22 subs find it very useful on the rabbits head shooting because I sell them, hit rate improved and I would rather miss if not hit in the head. As said spend time on the ballistics at various ranges reaps rewards.

Well the rings arrived so on goes Number 2. Need to buy a chrono now. Borrowed one for the 308 but probably should own one if all my scopes are ballistic.

Expensive stuff this modern age shooting 😬

Sure is , I was resorted to buying a chrono from a guy on here , all I seem to do is change scopes - rings - ammo and no sooner I’m I happy and something else new comes out 😉.. wonder what’s next 👍

Sooner or later someone will invent sights that are built onto the rifle barrel, made of steel and with no lenses, just look though a notch and maybe a bead or something at the far end for alignment- that would be awesome, sturdy and fail proof. Would also stop people taking long shots and practising fieldcraft to get close

But you are Timmy, there’s just a little button on the thread that says ‘show ignored content’ so I can still see what you’re saying about me if I choose to……

The main thing that's tickling my interest at the moment is Nocpix's latest day/night offering. Bigger lens, 50% more pixels at the sensor, better screen resolution, 60hz refresh, inline LRF....

....the only negative I can see is it's much and such the same weight as the original Alpex 4k 😭

A - but who says I don’t have a Speacial Licence which you have to apply for through Nature Scotland which allows you under strict conditions to take feral pigeons which are a Health and Safety problem and a risk of disease .
legal in scotland without a speacial license as well:)

People are selling their alpex because every bloody household has one, and many realise that it’s more enjoyable to hunt with honour than watch a TV screen.

Rant over 😂

And , goodnight 😴

Come on Trigger there ok for pigeons 😁I don’t have a double barrel robbery device certificate and really the only way for me . 758 we’re at now , they do have some good points . 😁👍

It’s only the LRF models that you see for sale
Very rarely do you see the non LRF model for sale
So I’m guessing that people realise that they don’t need the LRF or they can’t use it,
as in putting all the said information for the ballistic calculations etc
???
I would imagine the LRF model will be far more common than the non LRF model hence more on the market. I think people will buy them use them for a while and decide to upgrade to thermal scopo🤷

hello Rusty :-) Interesting! - but what are the main advantages of that upgrade ? Are the scopes smaller, use less battery, need less lighting etc? .-) ( i am asking as a complete digital scope newbie here ). :)

Need no lighting at all, relying on temperature difference between surroundings & your target.
Thanks Ben :) aha, i see. - yes, that does sound advantageous indeed! Of course considered vs the potential extra cost, size of scope etc, but yep, thermal these things aside seems the opprtune vs IR then. 🤠

No illuminater required foxes can see the little red dot in it they can be educated and bugger off if they see it most don’t but there’s always one that’s been missed before🙈. You can see them better in thermal than ir. I love my hic LRF it’s great for the money shot a heap of foxes with it at some pretty decent distance but if i had the money i would go thermal its so good nowadays and it would be easier to see foxes on rough ground they can be difficult to pic out on hill ground with ir sometimes.

I bought the LRF version, zero’d it, used it a few times in the field then sold it
Why?
I could use it but menu scrolling is annoying
It weighs a ton
I couldn’t see the LRF adjusted aiming point. It’s very small, red (I’m red green colour blind and close to the normal aim point)

I didn’t enjoy using it. I realised that watching a dim but real image through my HT is preferable to me. I’m not under pressure for numbers and I shoot a lot conventionally (well was conventional now probably eccentric)
