arken optics

I have an Arken ep5 gen1 and an Element both exceptionally good scopes bearing in mind I got my EP5 on Black Friday from tactically scope last year for £325 it was less than half the price of a Titan

Use it frequently out to 1000m returns to zero perfectly and I’ve never had a want for anything more since I got it

Absolutely dreadful time you’ve had but again having bought and sold to Optics Warehouse a number of times I’ve always found them very good

I don’t think anyone should be put off buying Arken or anything else from Opticswarehouse

Rather the take away here is that the uk distributers likely do not have the parts or expertise to warrantably repair a product manufactured on mass in Japan/China

Unlike the German/Austrian optics at 400-500% price tag

Not that I know of, but Vortex UK are a two day turnaround.
I had a scope with a issue, sent it to them on a Tuesday morning, had a replacement in my hands by Thursday afternoon
I had a problem with an older Vortex Viper 3-9 x 40 that I really liked, bought it online on a forum used, contacted Vortex online, Ryan Muckenhirn in the USA responded very quickly, and before I knew it Eddie Price at Country Sports Wholesale got in touch to arrange the return. That scope was no longer available, but within a very short time I was supplied with their new Viper HD 2-10 x 42 which is a superb optic, Philippines glass. Incredible customer service. Wouldn't hesitate to buy Vortex, any grief Vortex in the USA and CSW in England just sort it out and get you shooting again as soon as possible.

I have 3 Arkens (2 EP5 Gen I’s and an EP5 Gen II) and have had them for over a year - no issues so far and they are not pampered - I do know of one that was bought second hand and had an issue with maintaining zero but who knows what happened to that with the previous owner.

Mine have been faultless and used regularly.

Gixer

i found the scope on par with my element titan until it went faulty <less than a year old and used 12 times> ,but to get a new faulty scope as a replacement shows very poor quality control ,my element scope is five years old and has been used alot more and <at the moment stands its self in high re-guard compared to the arken> i should have just bought another element titan but wanted a bit more magnification . a lesson learnt the hard way, more money spent for an infirior product.!
Why not return it and get the element then? 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you haven’t had it that long I would think OW will give you a refund.

I think the answer to your question is 'very unlikely', and its not something that I would expect.

Agreed. I've had a 3 month, 4 month and 7 month turnaround from Leupold, Swarovski and Delta respectively. None of them offered a replacement while awaiting repair.

just so we are all clear on this subject, scope became faulty <illumination control just moved on its own and became very loose, scope returned .owh said yes faulty new one being sent out .new one arrive and was faulty out of the box, returned still waiting for the next replacement to be sent but owh have been ask by ARKEN to quality control for THEM before owh send it out to me! buy items made in CHINA GET CRAP,simple. OPTICS WAREHOUSE said as the scope was 11months 18days old they would need to ask the BOSS if they would give a refund <?told it was very unlikely> no refund for faulty products BE CAREFULL WHERE YOU SPEND YOU MONEY .

If you got a replacement it wasn’t 11 months old - or did you leave it 11 months before checking it?

And it may be chinese but there are a lot of ELR shooters using them to good effect.

China is perfectly capable of producing goods to a very acceptable standard. I know of at least a couple of Arken scopes being used successfully on Diggle Range shoots out to 1000 yards. These are FFP scopes so they don't float my boat, but for some people, they do.
The OP has clearly had what he considers to be a bad experience and I'm sure that we have all been there at one time or another after forking out for a product, but there are a lot of folks out there quietly using Arken scopes with no issues whatsoever. The old adage of 'one swallow doesn't make a spring' perhaps ...
Hopefully, he'll get it sorted to his eventual satisfaction.

Arken/DNTs business model will always lead to unresolved QC issues.

Packing higher level qlass and other features into scopes made to a price point to attract business...and factor in duds as part of the model....as the money is spent there instead of QC.

Understanding that as part of the value they offer is needed when making a purchase from such companies. A pain when it goes wrong for the individual, but the majority don't .... so lots of people getting value and higher end specifications..... and able to do the marketing on their behalf.

Vortex and Element factor QC into their model.... so are at a higher price point for their similarily manufactured Chinese scopes..... and if they do go wrong, you get excellent customer service.

I bought an Element Helix off here and the seller forgot to mention the dust and crap in the lenses........

I contacted Element direct, got a response via email from a nice chap in SA.... who arranged for me to send it back to the UK distributor......and had a nice shiny new replacement turn up a few days later.

No receipt, no 'well we cant do that as it was bought second hand' ...just send it back and we will look after you.

Paying a bit more for a scope from these companies is like insurance. Worth doing for the rare occasion when it goes wrong.

I like Arken/DNT glass optics and have used one and been impressed with their glass quality and image and functionality.... but wouldn't actually buy one to avoid any embuggerance caused by QC issues out of warranty.

the first scope became faulty at 11 months 18days and was returned and the replacement was sent back the day it arrived as it was also faulty ,i am now waiting on the third scope which has been quality inspected by optics warehouse as requested by arken optics. i bought ARKEN as i was led to believe that like leupold high end scopes it was made in AMERICA but not the case ! i was aware it had japanese glass which of course is fine but chinese assembled and poor quality control i was not aware off .i await the replacement with fingers crossed .
