Well it happened again my Thermal Imager failed again. Three times this unit has been back to be repaired. First time it was send back to Lithuania. I waited 3months for that one to return. Second time felt like a quick turn round from Thomas Jack 6 weeks. The most recent was sent back fully repaired in two week. The warranty runs out in June and i will need to rethink who i purchase my next unit off. 5 months with out the unit to me is not really acceptable any one else had similar from Pulsar!. Also a big thank you to LDNS for loaning me a unit till mine returned.

What element of it failed? I have an Axion2 XG35 - so far no problems 🤞

I do not have the first two as they were a while back/ Not sure what these problems where but lets just say the unit didnt work. ps (unit worked twice weekly for a few hours)

Had to return mine via Macleods under warranty moisture ingress ocular lens XG35 was without it for about 5 -6 weeks not something I’d of expected for a device costing in excess of 2k

Mmm i like pulsar stuff there maybe better stuff out there but it works for me, ive had the old spotters x2 and have 3 x xq35 axion pros 2 x lrf, and c50s x2 and touch wood no problems thus far, with the amount of stuff produced i would pressume there might be the odd faulty unit, ile not name other makes but a friend paid a lot of money for something else and a hour out of the box it wouldnt work and 4 weeks on after its been returned he's still no spotter, you seem to have been very unlucky dave especialy if you need it as we all do these days, i hope things get better and everythings sorted for you pal good luck.

The opposite experience, thankfully. Had my Helion XQ50F for years now & it’s never missed a beat. Sounds like either really bad luck or an undiscovered fault with your particular unit that is taking the boards out? Not sure on age of your unit/warranty etc but I’d be pushing to reject it & wanting a full replacement?

trusted brand.

I have a 9 year old Pulsar XQ38 Helion.

That has been:
  • dropped on tarmac
  • fallen in mud/puddles
  • been exposed to some truly foul weather hung round my neck
  • I recently managed to lose it on the moor for 12 hours - it spent the night there in rain and near zero conditions. I found it in the morning. Rinsed, dried, charged and good to go!
So whilst I cannot speak for later offerings from Pulsar, the Helion platform has proven itself to me.

They are indeed tough but I've had the odd issue over the years and the after sales service on Pulsar does let them down, I've had two models but I think my next purchase will be a Hik Micro for better aftercare

There is a value issue too, side by side I've looked through Hik's costing less than half of my Pulsar and they have had better image quality
