Think the idea is the copper part of the bullet can be hollow, then joined to the brass part, which is not possible if all made in one from solid copper or brass.

Most modern barrels are RH twist, so with a RH thread that won't be an issue as the reaction torque will tighten the thread![]()
Tends to be older rifles such as Enfields that have a LH twist, I think? Or I guess a custom build could be specified as such? There's a train of thought that theorises a left hand twist can counter the natural tendency for a right handed shooter to pull the barrel to the right. How much truth is actually in that theory I wouldn't know"Most" that's reassuring!!!
