Invite your MP to see the value of shooting

I did a talk on deer management for a local cub-scouts group earlier in the year. I was very pleasantly surprised how enthused they all were, including the leaders and parents. As it was a winters evening, they found my thermal imager absolutely fascinating..... although my bum cheeks did tense a bit as they were running around outside taking turns with it in a game of nocturnal hide and seek.
Brilliant.
Kids love a thermal monocular... devil of a job to prize it out of their hands. Hopefully, it might trigger a love of wildlife when they get to see critters moving around.

My recent post on this topic has been viewed over half a million times, and the huge number of comments all reinforce my claim that these unacceptable delays are a country-wide issue and certainly not restricted to Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
Delays are not just inconvenient, they can have significant consequences in respect of missed sporting opportunities, impacts on individuals' ability to carry out their work and financial costs including paying for storage of "unlicenced" firearms.
Of course it is critical that diligent checks are carried out to ensure firearms are kept out of the hands of those who shouldn't be anywhere near a firearm, but for the many law-abiding and legitimate license holders, we must find a solution that clears the backlogs and ameliorates the process going forward.

I am calling Diane Abott, her constituents are some of the most prolific firearms users in the Capital!

Anyone got a 9mm I could borrow? Shooting beer cans in Hackney marshes is a sure way to get her to see the value of our sport.
