There is so much information from reliable sources on lead and its properties, that it is quite bizarre that anyone would suggest that it does no harm, fail to recognise that because they don't see it it has not or cannot affect them.

From a medical perspective this is not controversial at all, but on here apparently it is.

As some have said, they wish to have the choice, i have no particular desire to deprive them of that choice as i have said previously, and good luck to them i hoper they are right about their health.

Can you tell me how you can make the comparison between copper and lead ammunition please ? And if you’ve ever eaten lead shot game ?

Several of the manufacturers' data do not support that rather spurious assertion. I'd suggest 300m as a more practical limit.

I spent best part of 15 years shooting copper in 6.5x55 and 270 it works and works bloody well

You get the right bullet weight, going the right speed you’ll get a very dead deer with very little damage

If you want to know how a bullet performs you need to shoot 100 deer to get the best analysis of how it performs and once you have found what works best stick with it.

That’s what I did back in the day, that is why with lead bullets it’s the sierra game king and Barnes TTSX

And with no disrespect if you haven’t shot 100 deer with the same bullet, you’re clutching at straws, also I will say until you shot your first 100 you don’t really know what you’re doing. You’re still learning.

Thanks to be frank i have not set out to claim any expertise, quite the opposite in terms of stalking shooting deer i claim to be no more than a novice. In stalking terms I am making my first steps, and freely admit that.

However, when it comes to the question over lead poisoning there are a few clearly with experience/and expertise to opine on such matters, and have basically said the same as I am saying.

This does not require one to be an expert stalker, or an expert in ballistics.

why did he change to copper , was he forced to?

did he have an issue with the lead he used previously ?
