I want to use hornady 143gr eldx.
Ive read conflicting info regarding the need to use large magnum primers and normal primers are ok?
Also does anyone have any recipe powder combos etc please?

As above most manuals state Large rifle for the 6.5 PRC, its what I've been using and can't see a need to go to magnum. No evidence of unburnt powder etc

I'm currently playing about working up a lead free load. Not settled on a bullet yet, started with Yew tree, but they were super fussy, perhaps didn't suit my rifle 🤷🏻 got around 1 MOA at 100 yards, but for home loading thats not what I'd be happy settling on.

Picked up some 130 grain Sierra Tipped Game Kings and with a modest charge of N165 have them at 3000 fps, and grouping at .5" and under, best is .3"... could push for more speed but have left it there for now.

Using factory ELD X for deer currently, folded a big D&G lowland stag. Lardered post rut at 110kg (gralloched, head and legs off)! It again shoots seriously well in my rifle at 2870 fps, slower than box but very effective so will be using that until I settle on a handload, its hard to beat other than the £55 per box, but I never begrudge paying for things that work!

TTSX 120 will be what I play with next!
Ok thanks what recipe have you been using. And what sort of speeds are you seeing please?

I don’t actually have the rifle yet! But have been buying the components for the the reloading. Was going to use Staball HD or RS 60 or maybe Viht n560. You?

Normal primers are fine.

RS60 works very well with 143gr eldx.
