This had to be shared.

Has the deer been gralloched?
That was my first thought too…

The vaginal tuft is still there suggesting that the pelvis hasn’t been tunnelled, also there is no evidence that the neck had been opened up to remove the oesophagus suggesting that the green gralloch is still in.

Looking at this, I can only think it’s been done using photoshop or some sort of AI.

What have Muslims got to do with it? Anyone who doesn't like what's on display (pork chops or dead deer) can simply shop elsewhere.

Just looks like an old-school butcher to me, who probably knows his market well.

I've seen enough posts on here over the years by people hankering after the "good old days" when a butcher's shop front would be festooned with feathered game etc during the winter months. Well this ought to keep you all happy. He's even got quite a few of his price labels in £/lb, not kg. Just like the old days! :british:
Remember very well the local butcher having the sunshade out to keep the weather off the display in front of the window with braced pheasants, rabbits, hares, etc. hanging off the framework - rabbits & hares all had a small white plastic bag secured over their heads to contain the claret!

pretty sure its real, i just google searched the image and it bought up 3 others very similar, but i couldnt get where it was

I distinctly recall my first trip to Reloading Solutions in Oxford back in the 90's. Having 'scored' my powder (Varget) fix at the appointed drop-off cafe, I headed for the main part of the City and soon found myself in a covered market. Hanging at the front of a very busy butcher's stand/shop were two in-the-fur roe deer.

Well, the origin (according to Google reverse image search) is a vegan page on Facebook. Make that what you will? 🤔

Probably the cattle market - I remember going there as a kid as both sets of my grandparents were from Oxford so we spent most school holidays up there so my parents could have some time without us under their feet!

I used to hang them off the Gazebo at the farmers markets leading up to Christmas, pheasants, duck, white hares, just as they came, ie no parliamentary-type suffocation games with bags, cables or satsumas…

Because I can see no visible sign of in-the-field or lay-by evisceration.

And there was I convinced you had DSC L3!

Wouldn’t the belly be more than a bit fuller were the rumen still in place? To me it looks like it has been gralloched, and there is nothing unusual with the tush still being intact, if it was split at the pelvis as we do them here the tush is merely left as is.

This said I’d’ve expected the oesophagus to be removed.

Very floppy and no sign of rigor mortis. Pretty sure this is AI / photo shop.
Not a speck of blood anywhere to be seen.
Could be wrong wouldn’t be the first time😂
My guess is…. Fake news and a vegan psy opp 😂

On the other hand, most of the carcasses I've seen hanging at the game-dealer look a lot less tidy than that and even the best ones show a drip of blood somewhere on the bits visible in this photo.

At the moment, I'm still in favour of AI.
No.

It’s not AI.

I spend an inordinate amount of time investigating AI generated images. This doesn’t seem to have any of the traits you usually see.

One thing to bear in mind: the less training data the models have to go on, the weirder it looks. If you were to try to tell an AI to generate an image of a roe deer carcass in a crate in front of a market butcher’s stall, I can guarantee it wouldn’t look like that.

Among other things, AI is oddly bad at generating roe deer - it reverts to red or white tail as a default.

The clincher here, though, is the price label on the counter behind. It is far too consistent with the rest of the labelling. AI currently can’t do that - if you asked it to include a price sticker, it would default to something that looked like a Costco label.

This looks real, and given the pining for the good old days theme that pervades this forum, I’m amazed anyone objects.

Or the stalker did a basic field gralloch and dropped it straight at the butcher's on his way home?
Absolutely.

Sunken area between ribs and pelvis - looks exactly as you’d expect a green gralloch’d deer to look.

There is absolutely nothing about the picture that stands out as fake.

I have any number of pictures on my phone of deer on similar poses (ie. in a carcass tray) with no visible blood.

I’d say that those who think it looks fake probably haven’t seen a great many gralloched deer lying in a tray!
