Zeiss conqueror fake.

This might appear a daft question ,and I have already put the whole sorry saga down to experience, I find myself the lucky owner of the above scope which I have concluded is a fake .It was an auction purchase and to be fair it was advertised as a boxed scope with just a picture of the box,it was not described as a zeiss scope and i bought it unseen (stupidly) .I have contacted the auction house by email just to give them a heads up on the vendor for the future ,and rather hoping they will offer to refund me but due to my own embarrassment mostly, can’t see any point fussing too much.
Any way back to the question does it have any value at all as a fake ? If I get no joy from the auctioneer re a refund I might stick it on eBay clearly described as a counterfeit Zeiss it seems to work ok and is fairly good optically .I paid £120 and I know I should have known better re if it sounds too good it is too good to be true .Your views please

If it works - why not use it and use it until it self destructs or is no longer functional? For £120.00 it's never going to be top of the range, but it might well be useful as a back up scope.

The dead giveaway for me is the adjustable objective parallax (on the bell of the scope) and next I would look for a red/green illuminated reticle - Zeiss do not make them like that. Can’t see but suspect windage and illumination caps have no Zeiss badge.

‘Conquest’ is harder to spot ‘Victoly’ is a bit easier

There's a few threads on these fake Zeiss conquests. Simplest way to tell if it's dodgy is if it's to good to be true be wary. If you bought it on the evil bay and it was advertised as a Zeiss then start a refund claim. They'll side with you.

Email Zeiss customer service and they will confirm if it's the real thing.It should say Conquest etc on the side?I had a friend who bought one from Wish knowing full well it was a fake,came with the box,papers looked the part but was suprised when we tried to zero the bugger and wouldnt hold zero.

Hopefully you will get a refund.
A mate bought one years ago and it was crap.
At 24 power the target image was the same size as my original zeiss scope at 16 power.
From what I remember we had problems trying to zero it also.

You are entitled to a full refund and if the auctioneer is reputable they will be happy to do so. They as well as a buyer have responsibility to ensure authenticity but onus more on them.

Mea culpa on their part as they deal in huge numbers of items.

Thanks for all the replies ,I don’t feel so bad know ,there is a post on fakes on the net that noted all had the same id number and mine has the identical number ,also no blue Zeiss logo also the green and red illuminated reticle is present .

they will refund it. If they refuse they are breaking the law. Swallow your pride because the box clearly is a v good forgery and Conquest = Zeiss.

I bet when you adjust the vertical it goes at 45 degrees, I have seen a few of these obviously a fake , you can get the same model with Leupold on it allegedly a LRT.

The reticle is the usual giveaway, if it has an upside down christmas tree it won't be a higher end scope, again with the reticle, they are usually two coloured, green/red red/blue etc. And the general style and layout of the scope, they're all from the same factory in china, just get a different make printed on them.
The old giveaway with Leupold MK4 fakes was the serial number which was usually 8888 SC

Just on a slight tangent, I'm always reporting fake scopes on ebay, they do absolutely nothing to stop it
