Attaching a knife to Kuiu bino harness

After some advice: has anyone attached a knife in a kydex sheath to the kuiu bino harness? If so, how did you do it?

I’ve considered just threading the straps through the back of the kydex holster like a belt. but it’s not particularly secure and likely to fall off. Alternatively I could just secure it on with some paracord, but this also seems a bit chipshop.

One of the American companies has a plastic panel that you can attach to the back of the bino compartment (mainly for pistol holsters) but this seems a little over the top.

Thanks in advance.

I put it on the strap of the harness, off to one side.

Therein lies the answer. Determine the preffred location for the knife and secure the holster in position with two or more Chicago-like screws that pass through the fabric. Place a piece of neatly cut plastic on the inside that corresponds with the holster's footprint and punch holes for the screws to pass through. Tighten screws. If worried about the binoculars or thermal being scratched by this arrangement, glue a peice of fabric over the area.

Morning mate,

Many thanks. It’s a more involved solution than I was planning but sounds like it could be the right answer. Out of interest, have you done this before? Or just a suggestion?

Not on a bino harness but it's a truth, universally acknowledged, that such an arrangement may be adapted for any number situations where you wish to fix an item securely to something.

Just ensure you are 100% happy with the chosen location as you don't want to add multiple rainwater drain holes to your shiny new harness!

Haha, I may try a short term solution then until I’m 100% sure where I want it.

Thanks again for the advice.

Call me old fashioned and traditional, but what’s the matter with putting it on you belt?

Like many many many a stalker have done.

I think you just making hard work of something 😬🙈

Bit of Velcro on the back of the kydex - added a cable tie that loops into the hook for extra reassurance.

Rock solid.

Mate, this is really good.

I don’t seem to have any Velcro in those areas though. Did you get that added?

This is where I’m thinking of trying to mount it, vertically down next to the bino pouch, between it and the utility pouch.

Any and all ideas/suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Mine is attached at the end of waistband stays there no problem it also helps when putting the B thing on as you can jets flick it over your shoulder and it dangles down makes it easier to reach

What is this term used " a quick neck knife" is it for cutting the neck quickly?
@Overlay Phil very kindly brought this knife for me to use on Muntjac :tiphat: it just happened to be the first one to hand:rolleyes:
I had to dress it back in shape as it was a bit like the yellow brick road 🤣 All forgiven now.
