BASC announced as official partner of The Stalking Show

I’m a BASC member and a strong supporter of BASC. I also go the Stalking Show and have done since it started. Yet I struggle to see what real value BASC will add to an already highly successful and entirely relevant (to deer stalking) show that is the Stalking Show in its current form. It already has excellent live demonstrations such as the one by Jose Souto and Rachel Green the other year where they demoed the skinning of a Roe doe, quartering and butchering it as well as cooking a venison dish to pass around the audience. This was so informative and engaging to watch as well as to taste. So I reiterate my earlier comment, I’m not convinced BASC will be able to add any further value to an already excellent show. Perhaps @Conor O'Gorman can give us more details as to exactly what BASC will be bringing to the party?

Pity it is a new partnership with just the BASC….. I wonder what the back ground was in the deal…. Just BASC as a condition? I’d have preferred a joint shared effort of support from all the organisations…. Surely the bigger organisations should all be on the one supportive fighting front…stand united ….. Think of the collective power they could generate if they all pulled together. I hate this who can **** highest up the wall stuff…..

Just to be clear: the British Deer Society is still the official charity partner of The Stalking Show 2026. We’ll be there, more focused than ever, and ready to support everyone passionate about deer and their management.

For us, this show isn’t just an event, it’s a chance to meet you, share what we do, and show how evidence-based deer management, research, training, and education make a real difference in the field.

If you’re planning to be at the show, stop by and say hello, have a chat, and see how you can get involved. You can also show your support by becoming a member, donating, or spreading the word about the British Deer Society and the work we do for deer and promote responsible stalking.

The Stalking Show is a place for learning, sharing experiences, and having real conversations about sustainable deer management. Together, we can make it the best show yet.

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year, we look forward to seeing you in 2026!

Thank you for that clarification!

So we have a charity partnership and a financial partnership, nowt wrong with that.
All we need now is for the NGO to come forward and make a bid for another partnership slot e.g. professional partners. :)

When I last went to shoot a deer I used lead ammunition?

To which a ban on the use of lead ammunition which was called for by, as well as others, a body of which said Mr Swift was a prominent member of?

And to whom BASC has very recently awarded a life membership to?
He retired from BASC in 2013

The thread relates to 2026.

Do you understand what a “ life membership “ is or do you need further explanation?
I do, it means he has been given life membership of a shooting organisation.

It doesn’t mean he is involved in decisions to align with a shooting based show 🤔

Do you understand the meaning of letting go…

I’m sure this is one of your favourite shows 😀👍
