I did ask if they were measuring heads - the response was "the BDS are not here this year as they went to the stalking show" to which I thanked them and moved on. Despite the the irrelevance of the reply.

I have not had a pop at anyone, I have just made a response to your post about your thoughts on BASC at the game fair this year which you have posted on a deer stalking forum. I have been polite and respectful, not avoidant or missing the points you have raised deliberately in any way or otherwise.
Again -- I was just surprised that BASC were not able to provide a head measuring service this year. Then found it funny/ironic that you suggested I email BASC. Maybe my sense of humor is off base. No drama or issue.
And in-between I even managed to get out and get my first fallow of the season. It's was not worth measuring..

I know that you didn't get a direct answer to your question Karamojo but was it BASC themselves who actually carried out the head measuring service at previous game fairs or were they simply just hosting CIC on their stand?
I know that CIC on their website announced that they wouldn't be attending the game fair.

I also have a faint recollection of BASC breaking away from CIC and offering an alternative medal system in conjunction with one of the shooting magazines some years ago, or has my memory of something that I personally have little interested in totally failed me and I've become confused by it all? (Clue - When a new category of Platinum medal was introduced.)

Yes BASC did try their own head measuring scheme but I believe that was a failure?

Thanks for explaining. BASC has been doing head measuring at the last two Stalking Shows. There is a webpage below and I will see if we can add the events ahead where head measuring takes place to that page:
