lighter projectiles for 9.3 x 74R

Hi fellas, for shooting medium sized hogs, (which are more feral pigs than wild boar where I am I was looking to load lighter bullets than the usual fare. also to increase my range. Gun being a Brno U/0 combo 9.3/12ga. Any good suggestions? I like softer projectiles rather than superhard. We have woodleigh 250RNSP here as an option. Any others you'd suggest?

I would use what you have available to you. No point getting all excited about all the bullets you can read about on the internet, when Bang and Bodgit in the all outback Town only has one box of bullets available.

A woodleigh 250 RNSP could be a very good answer. They kill well without causing massive damage. Who cares that they not the most aerodynamic of projectiles, but they will shoot and kill perfectly well in 9.3 type ranges - ie not where are using a scope and making lots of adjustments etc. (ps don’t tell the Brits, but the Boers used round nosed bullets in their 7x57s and caused lots of havoc at long ranges)

A good light soft bullet that really expands at low velocities and has super shock effects is the RWS 16g (247 grians) Cone Tip.

But just because these bullets are easy to get here doesn't necessarily mean they are common in Australia.

Have a look at the Sellier & Bellot 193grn soft point bullet, it certainly works well on fallow deer.

I wish there were 9.3 projectiles in outback towns but I take your point . We can mail order most brands from the cities though. Speer, Norma, Barnes, Woodleigh, Lapua, Hornady. I dont think I have seen RWS projectiles here. I'll be using a scope for this as eyes not great with open sights

All 9.3 is out of stock at Woodleigh until about April next year.

I shoot a Chapuis 9.3x74R double and for plinking load up the brass with 12gn RedDot and a 93gn Makarov bullet. Gets out to the regulated barrel distance of 75yds without any problems. Obviously it works for me so do your research and be sure you know what you are doing. I could just be a nut case.
