Big doe.

Wish I had a better picture of her but I think for sure this has too be one of the heaviest does I've ever seen or shot, it without a doubt out weighs most of the bucks I shot this year 33-36lbs area I reckon.

Also a whoopsie buck I had the choice between two animals since we drove past them It had too be quick and there was no real way too ID (Slightly quartered too) for tush ID so antlers were the only potential way of proper ID.... AAhhh hate this time of year within a month there significantly easier to ID, the other animal whilst I would say slightly smaller in body was certainly more advanced in velvet growth so at least he was left alone.

main reason for us stalking Is the meat, but still It would be nice too take does when we can and leave the bucks for summer meat. 👍We've the does two kids too catch up with (Dont worry, she was drying up significantly and there on a massive kale field) also with her body size those fawns without a doubt are 22-26lbs easy.

Wow, it just goes to show the variation on sizes around the country. I regularly shoot roe does around that weight and the odd one up to 40lb.

Well done, I have shot 2 muntjac (dressed) over 30lbs so they were up there in the heavy weight class lol

I like too shoot the moorland/farmland usually the biggest bucks come off the forestry but I like driving around, for context the biggest buck I shot this year weighed in at 38lbs dressed prior too the rut.
Unsure if we've shot a doe in the 30s, I'm sure we have but I wouldn't be surprised if this one Is still in the 30s with her coat off I'll weigh her tomorrow. 👍

As expected she's covered in fat about 1" around the rump/tail then a nice generous coating around her cavity & straps even the buck had a nice bit of fat on him but still nothing like the doe.

Buddy wanted too sell her and usually I'm pretty lax about doing what he wants with them, but sheesh nice fat doe that's fed exclusively on pheasant grain and kale? I'm curious myself and I dont even like roe, If we sold it she'd become burgers.

A “Whoopsie” buck transitioned from M to F with a quick flick of the gralloch knife, and no hormone therapy or counselling required 😉

True! I'm in Scotland anyways It isn't a big issue I took the shot knowing I didnt have quite enough time too positively ID just verifying they were both adult deer were important, We've seen three different groups of deer all 700+ yards down the hill, too have them 150 yards from the road It was too great of an opportunity velvet buck or doe.

Its a large expansive moorland so other deer fill the place.

Not nice for the antler side of things but on those big bits of moorland I'd rather shoot a buck than having too shoot a doe and her kids.

Had does round here over 50 lb gralloched , head and feet on.
Shoot plenty around the 40 lb mark.

Hang on. Am I missing something here? That’s circa 14kg! Is that correct? That’s standard. Biggest Roe buck I’ve encountered on the hook is 34kg. Yes 34kg! I’m assuming you mean kilos not pounds?

I shoot near to Sol and the Roe don’t make great weights, 14kg does are the average.

The Reds are decent though.

Yes for sure never weigh our reds but I know Colin posted a 140kg-ish stag earlier in the year, I'd guess the average around our bit Is anywhere from 90-120kg, not that I've actually shot a "mature" breeding age stag though.

We have a giant stag roaming about at the moment big lad, even the non-deery people that have seen him have mentioned just how huge he is but the problem Is the time spent waiting for a deer like that I could sit the entire evenings of January and never see him and with him being a mature stag I'm not sure if chancing shooting it in February Is a great idea either! I did buy a trail camera though I might pop it down there and see if I can catch any videos of him so I can at least see "how" big he is (still not seen him.... everyone else has though!)

Are you sure he wasn't using the same scales as Tim 243 😂

That sounds on the smaller size for a red. I've had a good number of reds now around the 90-100kg mark on the hook, chiller ready. A big stag around here and you're talking tractor extraction 😂

Had a stag a few years ago that looked more like a cow with antlers. I wanted to shoot it but not a chance it would be recovered in one piece given its location! There was a good stag, maybe 14/15 points next to it that was large and it genuinely looked tiny in front this one

34kg, I assume that before dressing.

34kg "on the hook"?
By "on the hook", do you mean larder weight? If so, that sounds highly improbable.
34kg is about fallow doe size (larder weight).
That's one helluva roe buck, if your weights are correct!

Shot a Roe doe at the beginning of Dec 27kg dressed. Butcher said he had never seen such a stocky animal. Shot another one about 25yrs ago with Treadaway, that weighed 64lbs on the Barony scales, granted it had been in with the sheep and was feeding on sheep cobs.
