Acceptable accuracy

When doing the badger cull test it was to get 3 rounds in a 3 inch circle at 70yrds. Some of you will scoff at that but there were quite a few who couldn't. I often think of that when out. Id say that as long as you can hit a 3inch circle for fox or 4inch for deer then when you can't, then that's your max range. That might be 100 yards or 500+

I’ll just leave this here….🙄

That's really interesting, I have two CF rifles, a Steyr .223 which from day one has been incredibly accurate with most factory stuff and when a friend did load development it was consistent <.5 moa with 52gr Amax for fox.
I then bought a cheapy brand new browning Abolt .308 and what ever factory stuff you fed it, it sprayed 1.5"ISH groups and so I gave up in frustration with it and it sat idle for a decade.
Due to some larger species becoming available to me it's been dug out again, still shoots about the same which after watching this video maybe doesn't feel quite as inadequate as I always thought. I shot two CWD with it this week so maybe it won't get scrapped at the gun shop.

Im very glad i read this post as iv been a lot of a group tart this last couple of years chasing half MOA groups, with my homeloads, i got there but not consistently and it annoys me when one day it happens then the next it doesnt, its had me messing about with powder, primmers, bullets and brass, despite the fact me telling myself 1 moa is more than fine as i wont be shooting fox or dear past 200m, my 223 shoots pretty constant half MOA groups, but there easier to tune, having just shot one of my barrels out in the space of a year im no longer chasing small groups, im getting it re barrelled and settling on a steady load and thats that 👍

All that’s done is cost you a heap of money you didn’t need to spend!

Been there done that and got the T shirt!

1 moa or less will do

i know, but i enjoyed it, and my moto nowadays is " you cant take it with you" anyway, it might not actually be shot out, its going to have a right good clean with boretech eliminator first,
its a tikka t3x SV 243 thats done 1300-1500 rounds, so probably wont be far off done, plus i think i may be reading to much into it as its still shooting between .8" - 1.3" moa, and its been bloody cold,
can i borrow your T-shirt

Loads of life yet

this does me for foxing out to 400 yds at night, but only off bags or bonnet 😆.
don't know how to convert it to moa and it doesn't bother me either 😆
