I remember the term balloon head being used to describe the cup end of the brass tube being swollen a little then flattened to form the rim.
Some early 45 Colt cartridges and 4570 were balloon head brass unlike more contemporary solid headed brass cases.

I had 5 rounds of Norma 180 g 30-06 go through the washing machine. In my jacket Didn’t pull them just loaded them single and shot them off at a target all went bang and were still on zero.
Would be interesting to know if your .22s went bang and if they were still accurate?

I decided not to try. I was worried about under power leading to a bullet getting stuck in the barrel.
