Zulus V2 - a couple of little quirks..

Hi chaps
Just a couple of wee tips to all owners of the excellent Zulus V2…
1. The flip-up lens cover is held in place by a ring with two little holes in it - this can work loose and fall out - followed no doubt at some stage by the flip-up lens cover which it, err…… no longer holds in place - check the ring tightness regularly!
2. The excellent zoom lever is screwed in to the zoom ring but there are only 3 small threads holding it in place - I noticed mine was loose today so I could well have lost it on my next outing - it is now firmly glued in place.
These small niggles aside I am very impressed by both V1 and V2 - just a pity DNT didn’t put the same lever on the front focus too and don’t even mention the absence of a recordings date stamp.
You are welcome….

I lost my eye cup again a few weeks ago. V1. There is no way to torque the threads any.
So I ordered a rubber push on from China and cable tied it to the Zulus ocular bell.

The V1 lens cover is a bitch to remove & harder to get back on - yes I have scratched everything to buggery!!

Oh dear! Thats not good - I use a large needle held in a pair of molegrips - not pretty but it works - just make sure you maintain downward force on the hole as you tighten it….
