Cast red stags

Right are we all going to get our 🍆 and see who's got the biggest its the first time iv posted on here and im sure there is a vast amount of knowledgeable people on here we can all post pictures of big stags ect but I wasn't asking that

We usually have a week on Arran at the end of March and the stags still have their headgear in place for the most part. Don't seem to shed until April.

I very much doubt what you truly know what massive is Sol.
Good luck with the Roe Deer..😉
Well you certainly have massive stags where you are although I've never seen them in Staffs or Derbyshire. Big yes but never ever seen one weighing 1120 lbs. I suppose in froggie money that must be around 480kg.

Others are yet to attain your oracle-like status on this subject.
Hopefully your photos will help us lesser mortals reach the higher level of knowledge.
😉
Listen chap you wont see me posting advice on anything and everything like you and the other Tim..
You've took exception to me calling you out. Be a man and get over it.
Now don't waste your precious time replying to this post because it will have no effect on me what so ever.
But you most probably will 🤣
Devon stalker i have offered my knowledge to you and what have you done with it??
You've used in an infantile way.. Some how its offended you.
This normally happens when guys make out they know more than what the actually do.
Good luck with your journey in the reds.
Ratel my respect to you chap but I haven't clue wtf your post is about. But the oricle found it funny 🤔

I haven't taken exception to anything!
But banter can be a two- way thing, you know.
It sounds like you're the one who's taken exception to something, so, in your own words, get over it!

You'll notice that there are large sections of this site where I rarely, if ever, post anything. That's because they deal with subjects about which I know little or nothing. I read, and I learn, but I refrain from comment.
However, just like you, I'm more than happy to share my knowledge in the subjects where I do have some understanding. But, unlike you, I try to avoid ridiculing those who's prior experience is perhaps not so extensive.

Yes, of course I will 🤣

Ok, so given that earlier in this thread I stated that I know next to bugger all about red deer, in what way have I made out that I know more than what I actually do?
Good luck with your journey in the reds.
Thank you 🤣

It was!
I nearly made the mistake of thinking you meant 500kg, but the sharp-eyed Ratel realised that you were referring to imperial tons.

I was using the same weighing device as the Oricle of Essex uses 🤣

Some neck on him.. Agree with the Op... Really an exercise in opinion this thread. Variation in throwing antlers at unique times is possible....

Example of a short faced 8/9 month old knobber. Heavy neck hair giving the impression of him being more substantial than what he really is. Just like our forum Oracle's i suppose 😁
Probably make 45/50 kg..

Here’s a example of a deer no neck hair, shot in September, and another shot in February , perhaps the oracle can give me a age ? Both from the same area. Note the head shot guess the calibre .

The Welsh oricle has already mentioned that he knows "bugger all" about reds..
The Essex oricle is still hiding behind the settee on this subject??🤔
But I'll say top picture spiker approximately 15 month old.
Not a clue about the second??
Listen Taff soz about rubbing you up the wrong way chap.🤗

Well you did say he weighed half a ton so my post was just idicating that is big, and in my money 1120 lbs weight. I've seen Moose that big but never Reds. That is loosely what my post was about, but pehaps I musn't mock the afflicted.

Taff I'm not going to be petty and pick you up on your spelling like the resident Oricles do 😂
The average calving dates for Red Deer in the UK are relatively the same give or take a month either side of May/June. Obviously on occasions there probably will be early and late births. So it's quite easy to estimate the age.
To put things into context for those thinking or impressed by the first stag in the grainy trail cam image has a thick(big neck) and is of medium or mature build.
That probably had a substantial antler formation??
We'll this is what one really looks like..
That looks like a bullock with antlers...I wouldnt want to drag that monster far 👍
