Guntrader scam / fraud?

Ive a couple of adverts on guntrader, a couple of days ago I got a blatantly foreign sounding request for more info etc. Easily identifiable as they asked some daft question about licence which would have been obvious to a real FAC owner. Phone number was also incorrect and didnt follow UK standard. So I blanked it,

Now I've received another which was completely normal sounding to the extent it was casual if you know what i mean, when I went to copy the email to reply I recognised it as the same email address as the first enquiry!

Whats going on? How are these muppets planning on scamming me?

Anyone else had this from enquiries on Guntrader?

Be careful, it’s not just scamming that’s the risk, it’s downright violent crime in the sense of meeting to sell a gun, with a gangster…or worse, rocknrolla..

There’s a warning to read before you post a sale. It advises about RFD to RFD not meeting in person in motorway services etc.
Never let on your address etc.

One of the reasons why I would directly list anything on Guntrader. A very good reason to sell via the trade. Yes they take a margin, but saves a whole lot of hassle and bull****.

All I’m gonna say is, if I had a gun to sell I’m going to be meeting them somewhere that is safe I.e outside a police station that isn’t my home and then getting the FAC and contacting the licensing and plan it so that they are open when u need to phone or better yet if you can walk in
If you can’t do that I’d just hand it to a RFD to sell
We seen what happened when that boy down south fraudulently got the shotgun with the fake license and the office was closed.

I just wouldn’t risk it personally last thing anyone needs including yourself is a gun being handed to wrongun unintentionally

I am currantly trying to buy an AA510 off guntrader, but up to now have had no response from the vendor, gave my e.mail and phone number but nothing yet, might be a scam.

Guys... im not selling the guy the Firearm... its obviously a scam...

I was just wondering how they were going to try to scam me...?
Well in that case I think it’s like any others scam, they may just be trying to get your bank details or something or they may be actually trying to get a gun illegally

All scams are just lottery hits keep phoning or emailing and even if they take 80,000 failed attempts if they hit that 1 lucky attempt much like they did to my innocent Grandad (thankfully the post office women stopped it) then it’s a worthwhile venture for em

Hello, You hear it all to often these days, Look at the BBC Scammers programme , It is very much older pensioners they target via India mostly , They can even pinpoint the building but no sooner they shut down after being rumbled it starts back up, There is still a lot of Scammers in UK , I get a few scam calls a week so i check out number on line and it shows , Do not reply

Is everyone else saying don’t sell privately, because there are guns on this forum and many others. I have brought and sold guns privately, always asked for copy of certificate before details are released and ensure that they are alone. There are many security features on the certificate that you need to check

Perhaps hoping to get details of your FAC? Which they could attempt to copy/forge. Your address, which incredibly stupidly, is on FAC and SGC with confirmation that you keep guns there. Identity theft. Attempted financial scams. Violent crime.

I've had the same experience. I listed a shotgun and over the past three weeks have received three responses ... all clearly scammers!
