Hot water supply to a shed

I'm looking to upgrade my larder area this Spring. Currently there is no water supply and so I typically either boil a kettle and put in a washing up bowl or bring a bowl of hot water to the larder area. I want to install a water heater but the location of the barn with the larder in it is too far away for a mains supply. I'll have to take a cold feed from the nearest outdoor tap (about 20m away).
Just wondered if anyone had any good recommendations for a water heater that will be permanently mounted on a wall and only turned on when I'm using the larder? A neighbour said I'd have to be careful and the thing freezing in the winter but it's inside a barn so not sure if this helps. Also, it won't be permanently attached to a hose pipe!
The plan is to have a decent size sink underneath the heater.

Instead of putting your sink under your heater, I would suggest an under counter water heater beneath the sink. That way, your walls are kept nicely clear for things like knife rack, shelving, etc.
I have one under the sink in my larder. I just run a hosepipe from the nearest supply and connect it to the larder plumbing when required, and only turn on the water heater when I want hot water.
My larder is inside a barn, so no problems with freezing so far (although it remains a risk if we were to get a very cold winter).

Whatever you choose, if it's in a shed, then you will have to watch out for the cold weather. Yes, being in a shed will help, as will your southerly location, but in the depth of winter, you should treat it like a caravan and drain it down completely. The other alternative being to keep the shed heated. Which might be an expensive option. But look at those cylindrical type greenhouse heaters that don't take up too much electricity. You could look at Burco Boilers...

Just to add to the above, electricity to run the water heater is via an ordinary extension lead that brings power to the larder.

I utilised a static caravan gas combo boiler and a propane bottle.... flue up out roof
