Blackbirds fighting !

What is it with them
My garden is a battleground, to the extent I though a bird had been caught by a cat given the feathers .

I even went out and shouted at them to stop ! and they just looked at me wagging my finger at them like I was mad ( don’t even fly away , sat two feet from me on top of the kennel)

Honestly I’m exasperated, I was knocking on the patio door at them at 6 am today !!

God knows when they find time to eat cause it’s a relentless chase and scrap !

My wife now thinks I’ve went completely mental .

I have witnessed similar. They go after the smaller birds, robins, will ferocity. Must be a territorial thing this time of year.

We have long tailed tits this time of year constantly are attacking their own reflection in widows. Have chipped off the paint on the wooden frames with all of their dedicated violence . Mad little buggers.

At first it looked like two juvenile birds but way too early yet so it’s two females knocking lumps out of each other
I thought they would be too busy brooding now to be scrapping

I have started to find discarded halves of blackbird egg shells on my walks already so the birds are getting 'proper touchy' about what others are anywhere near their nests.

Watching a few blackies picking lots of worms at work today when the machine operator was backfilling excavations on a grass area.
Few robins were in the mix also, good feeding for them.
