Hello Gents

Anyone have any recommendations on red dot or other styles of sights for the 20g pump Hushpower ?

If so, how was it attached to the gun ?

Same question as well for comb adjustments and slings etc

Cheers !

Is the 20 GA Mossberg Hushpower drilled and tapped for a rail?

If so, you might use a cheap rail and red dot and focus on raising the comb. I did this via a stock adapter and an adjustable AR-type stock, but a Beartooth kit would probably work as well.

If, like the .410 version, there is no rail available and no provision for mounting one to the receiver, the best solution (albeit an expensive one) is an Aimpoint S2 attached to the rib.

They aren't that easy to find, but a S/H Aimpoint S1 would be the best option for overall cost/performance, I think.

Sounds good.

Hushpower found a normal left handed 20g in their store and are in process of doing their mods on it. Apparently Mossberg stopped making them ....

Are there are non digital / low tech solutions in stead of a red dot ? I have very little shotgun knowledge and it will be for flying pest control .

Huh, if it's flying you don't need any sights!

I used JB Weld to adhere a short length of rail to a keyed section of moderator on my .410. It failed after a year of abuse and still hasn’t been reattached. I’m thinking about using a jubilee clip next time!

I have the same gun

Put on the picatinny rail (the receiver is tapped so an easy installation) and then when shooting use the "u" shape in the centre of the rail to line up with the bead on the end of the mod. Couple this with a cheek riser and its all good.....stock is short too so may need extending.....key is that when leading you need less lead due to the width of the mod....also shoot both eyes open

Using the rail as a sight was recommended by a SD member and was good advice

Ill get it out the cabinet and get a photo next couple of days :)

I think there a couple of aftermarket stocks for the 20 gauge.

Phoenox maybe.

I have never used a red dot. I assume the consistent cheek weld is essential to get any kind of repeatable accuracy ?

Good man

I've owned a few hush power shotguns and never needed any sight on them.
Maybe if I was shooting slugs from one I might consider it.

I liked the red dot for sniping stationary targets in the garden or pens at 25 yards etc. You don’t need it, but it makes it easier. I just bite sighted it and was happy. The joy of a reflex red dot is that it compensates for the low comb etc as it aligns with the barrel not your eye. Someone will explain the physics better.
