Nocpix nite D70R

Imo you can’t beat DNT Zulus v2 for all round digital scope
I know its all preference but for me the image quality, look and feel of the Alpex means I prefer it to the Zulu V2.

To be fair they all do a job ... I had the Zulu on the 6.5 creed for a little while.. 9 shots and 9 deer ...but as mentioned prefer the Alpex ( actually I prefer the Swarovski Z6I but the fallow tend to be first and last light so the digital gives me those extra chances glass doesnt give).

I am a big DNT fan i have a few. Had the zulus 4k and alpex pro side by side couple of days ago and the alpex is hands down better in every way. Image much clearer, smoother and ergonomics are much better. Really wanting to get hold of a D70 to try but the daytime image of the alpex pro will take some beating. This wasnt looking at gates at 50 yards either. Real life upto 700 yards. Clarity is excellent

I was talking too a distributor yesterday, and their conclusion was all three of the scopes mentioned ( Pard, Zulus 4K and Nocpix ) are capable of shooting foxes out to 200 yards and probably beyond dependent on IR, which suits me.
They also added If you want to shoot foxes at 300 yards or further the original Alpex 4K is still king.

Lets be honest ...how many of us regularly shoot foxes beyond 200 yards?

Its nice to be able to but in most cases its not necessary. I've shot a very limited number out to just shy of 400 yards but that's the real exception...most are normally sub 200 with the odd few at the mid 200s..Alpex is more then capable with decent IR (as are the other scopes). To be fair I have an older Pulsar thermal on the .243 for most of my foxing.

I will add this was daytime. All of the scopes mentioned will be good for 200yds at night with the correct IR.

The D70R was not concieved to compete with the Hik Pro of course and it sound like the Pro leads the way right now in Digital in daylight.

Everyone is waiting for the brand comparison reviews in the dark at distance - wont be long now before the reviews come rolling in, so all of us who plan to upgrade can decide what to buy !

Thanks for that but we are still none the wiser regarding its capability for night foxing.Surely by now someone has managed to download 200/300 yards footage!
Yes, I saw the ranges but thought I may as well post it. I agree, especially as the units are widely available now, even though the numbers are small. People are busy of course and not all users are interested in forums etc.

Alpex has a clearer image than the D70 at all distances. Yes they both go poor at top mag. The 40x on the nocpix is a waste of time.
I have not looked in darkness through any.
For me on all areas the alpex pro is the best scope
Better daytime image and smoother
Smaller
Lighter
Much easier to use with focus being on the side.
I have had all 3 infront of me and the Alpex is the best one in my opinion.

I don't thinking anyone can deny the capabilities of the Pro in daylight. However what we are all interested in, are the brand comparison reviews in the dark at distance.

Can you gather that information at say 200 - 250 meters at night with no significant moon - Hik 4k versus D70R ?

Ah, perhaps you just have the Pro now so can do the 4K comparison.

That video has been commented on extensively on here - especially as he had an inadequate illuminator fitted. Most people have sensibly disregarded that video.

Ah yes, I thought those comments were about his review last year, didnt realise he'd done another one until today - either way it looks utter sh*te - daytime is poor also.

I can get the pro, D70 and zulus 4k together at night and will do over the next week or so. The illuminators i have are PBIR-L and DFK
will post back what i think. I also have the alpex 4k which i think will be better than them all in darkness.
Of the videos going round of the D70 in darkness i personally dont think its very good

You're a Gentleman - it takes time and effort to gather and post that data and will be very welcome from so many of us on here.

Of course up until now I think the concensus is that the Alpex 4K has had no serious competition in darkness and the Pro was not developed for darkness. which is fair enough.

I have a feeling the D70R will be comparable, but the jury is out at present.
