I once watched a woman park her Jeep Grand Cherokee in an underground car park. The empty spot was next to a metre or so diameter concrete pylon. She turned left into the park and smashed the LHS of her Jeep in to it. She reversed out and without changing her approach angle she tried again. This time she had a faster approach and again hit the pylon. LH rear door was smashed in as was the LH rear quarter panel. I reckoned the car would be written off due to the floor and roof also being pushed in.

About 15 years ago I was sat in my car in Tesco car park eating a sandwich & catching up on calls after a meeting. The space next to me was empty.

A last driver approached & slowed, she hauled herself up on the steering wheel to check where she was going then proceeded to turn the car & drive straight into the front corner of mine as I sat & watched in absolute incredulous disbelief!

When I got out all she could say was it’s OK there’s more damage to my car than yours…

It was justified in her mind. The root cause is that at a guess 40% shouldn't be in possession of a DL.

a combination perhaps...heavy fine,lost her car, her licence and of course no insurance due to being pizzt..thats a major fail for her pocket.

Many years ago I saw a woman almost completely rip the front bumper off her car reversing out of a parking bay at the supermarket... she just drove away with it dragging on the floor... would've been funny if it wasn't my wife driving!

And the icing on the cake... she took it to the hand car wash place round the corner and wondered why they were laughing... she did say she thought she'd only scraped it. Nope. Insurance wrote it off... I miss that car.
