I can't believe, but it is correct, that this was released twenty-four years ago this week June 25, 2002. And never realised, at the time, that it's about infidelity.

I thought this was the theme from the film "Summer of '42" that later became a book. As I read the book but never saw he film. But apparently not I see from the internet. Nor to be confused with "A Summer Place"
