Alpex Pro VS Zulus 4K VS PARD Nightstalker 2.0 - WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE??

Sounds like exceptional service but, should they not have just issued a new unit to you instead of a repair?
Cheers, Ken.

Soooooo.................. this is an interesting one!

First let me say I LOVE the unit, its size, weight profile, controls and layout are far better than any of the other digital scopes I have used. The daylight picture is stunning - so bright, clear and unlike my Alpex; more importantly it is not "flat" The built in LRF is hardly noticeable and it's activation is simple and intuitive as it's on the side focus.

Now to the downside 🙇‍♂️ I haven't fired a shot in anger with it yet! The first unit was zero'd at the range, put away in the cabinet but on checking the batteries when I took it out of the cabinet to use in anger for the first time there were yellow splodges visible in the display - like someone had marked-up a photo with a yellow brush. Nothing would make them go away but as they were not in pictures or videos, it was a display issue. Ian at Blackwood Outdoors was outstanding; issue notified to them in the morning, DPD collection advised in the afternoon and the replacement was with me the following day - outstanding service 🙌

However, having set that unit up, loaded profiles and getting it ready to got to the range to zero, I realised that whilst WIFI would turn "on" in the display, I couldn't see the SSID on 4 separate devices (3 Apple and one PC) or connect top any WIFI. Another call to Blackwood Outdoors and I spoke to Ian who said leave it with him. Later that day I got a message and a number to contact PARD UK who the following day (yesterday) talked me through various things, before sending me a newer firmware version (V1.1.14) to upload. All credit to Roy in persevering to get the ZIP file though to me 👏 Sadly, no improvement!

Later yesterday, Tracy from Pard called me and, having checked details, emailed through a RM Express 24 label to put on the box. It was in the post yesterday at 15:00 and was delivered to Pard this morning at 09:00. Plan was to confirm issue and if proven to send out a pre-checked new one to me, hopefully today 🤞

Frankly, I cannot congratulate Ian at Blackwood Outdoors and Pard UK for their exceptional (and sadly all too rare nowadays) customer service 🙌

However, this is my first Pard product and my confidence has somewhat been shaken by what's transpired. I cannot wait to try this device out practically as it appears to tick a lot of my boxes but cannot comment yet. @C h r i s is now streets ahead of me having both started down this route at the same time and from what we have discussed, he's loving it.
Stick with HiK after reading this!

I'm more than prepared to give Pard the benefit of the doubt - everyone, me included has their off days and sadly, I'm not a veery "lucky" guy as some may know from other posts on here. The picture is stunning and far better than the original Alpex 4K LRF I had and as I said above, its layout, control and clean lines sold it to be. I'm more than happy to give Pard a second chance and will report back in due4 course with my experiences in use from the field. Yes it was a shaky start, but IMHO they deserve a second chance.

Welcome to Pard ownership. They seem to either work for years without fault or be a total "Friday Afternoon that will do effort". Glad to hear customer service has improved.

I remember going into Sportsman Gun Centre in Exeter once and they were in the process of loading multiple pallets of failed Pards to send off for repair in China or scrap.

Don't get me wrong I like a Pard product the NV007 family A to 4k are very good when built correctly and they have given so much to the night shooting world over the years. The Nightstalker 4k EX is also a superb product, attractive, decent performance and nicely packaged. If it had Alpex 4K dusk performance it would be a crowd pleaser.

My money is also on Pard bringing out the first 5K digital device as they do like to push the innovations.

@wytonpjs Have you had a chance to try it out yet?

Sadly, I've not been able to get to the range to zero it until this Saturday, but I had it out yesterday evening, securing my first roe buck with it. Sadly, nothing demanding as this was pre-sunset but, after getting grumpy over lack of focus at distance, I discovered that in screwing the rubber eyepiece tube in, I'd changed the ocular focus  Clarity/picture was excellent. I was planning to test it as dusk fell but was sadly overtaken by time. More will follow..................

I have had my Zulus 4K scope since March. Chose it for the traditional tube style and generally positive reports from users on the web.
Set it up on my custom Sako -based .243 with a Burris XTR mount. Zeroing system is straightforward after reading the instructions. Tested at 100m and 400m - ballistic prediction was good.
Unfortunately I experienced repeated problems with the image focus using the objective lens adjuster - not the ocular adjustment. The scope would not hold focus and constant re-adjustment was needed; and sometimes could not achieve a focus at all with magnifications between 10 and 24. Yesterday took it back to Tactical Scopes in Torquay where George was very helpful. He quickly confirmed that there was a problem and it has gone off to DNT UK for repair.
I'll start another thread when the result is known.

If you mean it can. go out of focus when using the digital magnification, this can be due to softwares image enhancement, some digital scopes do this.

At the end of this video there's some useful last light and night-time footage from the PARD Nightstalker 4k 2.0, both of which look very good to me. My only concern would be that the reticle crosshairs are very slim, but I'm assuming there are others available which are thicker.

They are quite fine, which I prefer but appreciate many don't, and to date I've not found a way to make them thicker - only have the option to change the reticule type and colour.

OK - this is becoming a challenge. Out last night with it after a 2-week enforced break only to discover that when I woke it, it showed video recording and when I pressed the video button on top to stop it the display completely froze. It took numerous attempts for the power button to shut it down. On restart, same again with exactly the same results when I treed to stop the video recording. This happened several times and on one, there was a black box in the display where the video recording icons would be.

Frankly, I'm thinking me and this Pard model are jinxed! Anyone else had anything similar? This is my third unit!

Glad to say my unit is running sweet, had it out Friday along side the Drone pro10x which is sat on my 204. 204 now as the Pard sat on it awaiting zeroing. Drone will be moved to another rifle or not.

No but check that you haven’t got recoil activated recording on. As it’s super sensitive in my experience and check your memory card isn’t corrupted. Perhaps a new one or format it and see if that solves things…..
