Car finance claim

I have just submitted a claim relating to a loan I took out nearly 20yrs ago!
I knew I had a loan for my first Zafira when I got divorced but had lost any traces of paperwork. By shear chance last week whilst having a clear out I came across the meagre file.
Anyway I used the free reclaim tool on the Martin Lewis web site. It generates a letter and provides the email of the finance provider. So I completed the form generated the email and sent it off. Much to my surprise I had an acknowledgement email mail next day and so I await developments.

I think it's well worth using the Martin Lewis tool so if any SDF members have had car finance loan it's worth a try.
Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Did you have the details of the finance loans or was the martin lewis tool able to find them?

There are an awful lot of scams out there at the moment that seek to make a link with Martin Lewis. Proceed cautiously.

I keep getting texts, emails and phone calls asking me to claim for this finance i never had, i find them rather annoying, there only in it to take the 30% commission for doing something you can simply do yourself for free.
Plus ive never had any finance apart from a mortgage.

This - I have never used finance on a car but have been bombarded with messages saying I’m owed thousands!

Depending on my mood I may have a short conversation with the caller's. Some get offended by my response, they phoned me with the intention of taking money from me.

My docs revealed the finance was with North ridge. The tool has a drop down list of finance companies so selected it and up comes the correct email address. I had the vehicle reg no and the date I purchased it. It was lucky as I took up gap insurance and it was all listed on that document.
