The out yesterday or today thread and...

Couple of hours with the springer (air rifle) before work and accounted for 6 magpies, 1 jackdaw, 1 carrion, 1 rook and a feral. Not a bad way to start the day.

No pics as most ended up in places I wasnt going to recover them :)

Always amazes me how most of us return to the humble air rifle occasionally. They still brings a smile to my face anyway, especially if you get a bag full of Maggie's, well done 👍🏻

I have another farm where the shotgun sends everything off after 1 shot. I drove down the one track and sat in the truck with 10 or more magpies sat 50 yards away. When the variation comes through and I have the FX Impact they are for it 👍

I know this is supposed to be the non-deer thread but CBA with much of the rest of the forum at the minute

Just back from an RTC - sketchy details as ever with these things but knowing where it was, hopeful it would be a roe. And even more hopeful it would be a buck or a youngster and not a doe.

Drove up to find a big stag sitting up and very alert. Turns out it'd been down since last night - someone had seen it laid up in the corner of a field about 11:30pm but thought nothing of it as there are reds around there quite often. Still there this morning and police attended as it was close to the road but no idea what to do. Word of mouth through local farmers and somehow came my way. Properly bashed up poor lad :( Pic cropped as exit wound wasn't that pretty.

What a shame for such a stunning animal. Well done to you for putting him out of his misery 👍

47 assorted crow, jack's and rooks over barley so far, nearly out of cartridges...
We need you up here shooting some, I think the farmers have had 60 within two days in the Larson traps with literally not a dent driving around I would reckon a thousand need too come off minimum maybe more..... bloody loads of the things, I'm keen too shoot them but they give us no problems on our end personally and justifying the time too shoot them when we could allocate that time into deer is always tough! same with foxes, would love too but this time of year especially Its tough.

Easier too send the photos of the stags outside of private messages with how the site works.

My moms friend sent that and when my mother asked for the location they wouldn't tell her as I shot deer, too bad Its an infamous estate that you've got to drive past each night too collect me.... even had an antler off one of the fields that I posted earlier in the year lol.

They will end up in trouble. It's crazy what goes on on some estates.

Trouble with crow shooting nobody wants to help with cartridges. A few shot is ok but if you have thousands to shoot at it can start getting expensive!
Fox shooting is exciting and gets me out in the long winter nights.
You keep doing what you do Sol, we need ever young person we can get into this hunting lark 😁👍🏻

If I were closer I would happily come and shoot the crows ...I adore crow shooting...almost above all other types. As Smelly said the price of carts doesnt help but I'm happy to spend £90 on a slab if I can shoot 150 crows.

Thats a decent herd of reds.
