Sue my wife has just bought in x2 crates of red bull (copy) soft drinks to keep me pepped up over the rut.
This is my busiest time with a full diary for the rut(if it ever happens in this area!!), Then week after next onwards my poults will arrive and need tending after the morning outings, then trying to sleep a little between outings and running the foxing patrols in the late nights.
What is there out there can give me a boost when I need it?
What do you recomend bearing in mind I dont do drugs!
Thanks.
John

berocca tablets. they work a treat. very good on the hangovers aswel. jst dilute in some water and drink it up, not nicest tasting thing in world but they do give u a good boost.

worked till 2:30 am last night , And started at 5:15 this morning . I find bananas and lots of water work for me when combining

I personally find redbull and similar products are fine for a very short spike but leave you with a crash and craving situation. I don't train as much these days but water always gave me better results.

Red bull at exam times. Final week of revision I was only getting 2hrs a night sleep and it got me through

Caffeine tablets are meant to be good too?

Bradley the biker won the tour de France on jam buttie:s and water suppose if its good for him got to be worth a try :british:

Banana n peanut butter sarnies!
Bar of Chocolate.
Berrocca first thing in the morning.
A good breakfast in the morning!

Eat when your hungry, little and often.

Redbull when the chocalate don't work!

Stalked last night and this morning, shot 120 pigeons today, got a supper with 9 of lovely ladies from the Canadian equine olympic team now. Stalking tomorrow and Monday, back to the office for a couple of days to check the businesses are running ok and to move offices then another 5 days stalking. Tired even thinking about it.

Why do it all youself, get in some help. Theres plenty i'm sure that would assist with their services.

John suppose its not really good for your health but if i have a long drive after a weeks wildfowling up north (early starts late nights ) i drink 2x cans of red bull and half a dozen pro plus tabs ,
Takes about half a hour to kick in and perks you up no end, usually gets me to where i want to go without pulling over for a kip which can be sometimes a 8 hour drive. DF

I know how you feel the best for me is to cat nap its like being put on fast charge,Ive had a week of it !50 rabbits 200 pigeons on one day 250 anohter, roe stalking in between. getting ready for the fallow coming in next week.with a syndicate to cater for .This is the busiest time of the year for some of us and this year their seems to be loads of pigeons about. If you haven't got the stanima its not the job to be in.I think we do because we love it.Good luck for the coming season but chemiacals and caffine are not going to save you and it not safe to be to tired.Today i had a day off so got up at 5am went roe stalking on my own no rut down in cornwall yet or i cannot work a butillo, I found a young buck gave him a call to no effect so stalked in to him .Cull buck in the bag now a 1/2 mile pull back to the car and back home for breakfast.
Photo0291.webpGood luck and regards woodfordfallow

Cat naps for me, typical day this time of year, have a lie in til 07.30 (maybe) out teaching/guiding fly fishing all day, back home, grab some dinner, quick nap and out sea trout fishing, back home 1.00am, quick nap and up before dawn for a roe buck, its a tough life but some one has to do it!
The problem with these high caffeine drinks can be the side effect of increased heart rate and high blood pressure, couple that with someone who might be unfit/overweight/other health problems and the risk of stroke/heart attack could increase.
Cheers
Richard

I drink a lot of power aid during harvest. I have studied the effects at Uni and they hydrate you faster than water alone, as well as providing energy and replacing nutrients lost during exercise (stalking).

well, then pure coconut water takes the cake every time - I ditched all commercial hydration drinks for this when I was running various marathons/events, etc. last year, and tbh, it's a heck of a lot better....AND you don't have to worry about the risk of growing a third arm due to the additives!!!

John try haribo tangfastics or fizicles, I eat a lot of them at this time of year with poults and foxing+stalking and they work for me. Gatorade is also good.
